I love the name Aero but not the normal spelling [name_m]Arrow[/name_m]. I also love architecture and realized I could use [name_m]Eero[/name_m] like the architect [name_m]Eero[/name_m] Saarinen who’s famous for his works of the TWA Flight Center, the Gateway [name_m]Arch[/name_m], & the MIT Chapel. On nameberry, it says the pronunciation is [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] but I’m worried about what other people would pronounce it as. What did you read it as when you saw the title?
Since I’ve never seen or heard the name before, my first thought was “ee-roh”. The arrow prnc. makes sense too, but its not obvious.
I’d say [name_m]Arrow[/name_m], but because I know that it’s pronounced arrow. I guess instinctively I would have said Ear-ro, Ee-ro or asked.
Since I’m not familiar with it, I would say Ear-oh.
I know [name_m]Eero[/name_m] is pronounced E-ro but every time I see it I still think EE-ro.
The Eeros I’ve met (i lived near Lapland) were pronounced Eh-ro, with a long eh. (If you write de name in google translate you can listen the correct pronunciation in finnish)
It’s not really pronounced ‘[name_m]Arrow[/name_m]’ though. That’s just an approximation based on an American accent. My pronunciation of the word ‘arrow’ as a British person is nothing like [name_m]Eero[/name_m]. If you want the name ‘[name_m]Arrow[/name_m]’ just use that, it’s silly to appropriate a Finnish name and pronounce it slightly wrong just because you think it’s a cooler spelling of something entirely different.

I would pronounce it “EAR-oh.”
My first instinct is to say [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] for [name_m]Eero[/name_m]. I’m not exactly sure how it is supposed to be said. If [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] is the sound you’re going for then I would personally use the spelling [name_m]Arrow[/name_m].
I pronounced it as ear-ro and then air-ro. I’d just use the spelling [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] to save having to keep telling people how to pronounce the name.
