[name]Adrianna[/name] is the only way I would get the [name]Anna[/name] Pro. Pretty
Thanks for the helpful, feedback! I slightly prefer the [name]Adriana[/name] spelling, but I definitely don’t want to cause pronunciation confusion.
By the way, I love your user name. [name]Shoshanah[/name] is the most beautiful name. I wish I had the guts to use it.
I had an [name]Adrianna[/name] (student) and it was pronounced Ay-dree-ah-na.
Thx my family talked us out of using it wish we had too
Was that how you thought it was/should be pronounced when you first saw her name on your roll? I’m sure we will deal with pronunciation difficulties regardless, but I am curious about the first impression people get when they see this name in both spellings. Thanks so much!
I think [name]Adriana[/name] is a prettier spelling. Most of the time I prefer one n in names that end with -ana or -anna. As a teacher, I also always pronounce any -ana/-anna name with the “anna” sound first. It may be a regional thing, as we rarely have anyone with the other pronunciation, except the occasional bree-ah-na, around here. Gorgeous name!!
I have [name]Eliana[/name] so names with [name]Ana[/name] are generally Ahna and [name]Anna[/name] generally [name]Anna[/name] Although I agree regionally there may be places where Ahna isnt used. [name]Elianna[/name] in hebrew is still Ahna but I see people using it to pro the name with [name]Anna[/name] sound
I have only ever known [name]Adriana[/name]'s pro with Ahna sound but it is nice your way too. If you like [name]Adriana[/name] use it and just correct if need be. No big deal. I still have to spell [name]Noah[/name] for people often and its super simple so that can happen with any name.
I think both are beatiful, but prefer [name]Adriana[/name] (with the ah-na sounding). A friend of mine named her daughter Andryana (andry-ah-na) after an [name]Andrea[/name] in the family, which is similar and also I think really pretty.
In terms of pronunciation, I would pronounce [name]Adriana[/name] “aid-ree-ah-na” and [name]Adrianna[/name] with the “anna” ending. But I think for me, and others in my area, [name]Adrianna[/name] would always be pronounced with the ‘anna’ ending
I get ahna with both, though the [name]Adrianna[/name] spelling is a better bet. Either way, you’re going to be correcting people.
I feel like whether it’s spelled [name]Adriana[/name] or [name]Adrianna[/name], doesn’t tell me how it is pronounced. I wouldn’t know one way or another until I heard it.
[name]Adrianna[/name] is your better bet.
