I love the name [name]Aurora[/name], but I’m worried that others will have issues saying it.
I can say it, but it sounds very “arororoaro”, if that makes any sense at all. I’d likely use the nn [name]Ari[/name] often, but [name]Aurora[/name] is still a great love of mine.
[name]Aurora[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] is just stunning to me.
I’ve tried shifting my love over to [name]Aurelia[/name], which is much easier to say, but it’s not as loved as [name]Aurora[/name] is to me.
[name]Do[/name] you think that perhaps [name]Aurore[/name] would be an easier name to use? [name]Aurore[/name] is more demure, and grounded both in look and pronunciation I think.
Actually, I think [name]Aurore[/name] might be harder/more confusing to say! It’s pretty, but everybody will assume it’s a typo and call you/her [name]Aurora[/name] anyway. [name]Aurora[/name] nn [name]Ari[/name] is beautiful though!
[name]Love[/name] the name [name]Aurora[/name]. I was thinking of using it as a middle name. I think [name]Aurora[/name] is easier to pronounce than [name]Aurore[/name]. My mom gets a bit tongue tied when she says it, that’s why I like the nn [name]Rory[/name]. Lol, but even so, she says my first name funny sometimes. What I like to do sometimes is, if a toddler or very young child can pronounce a name pretty good, I might consider it a running mate. Lol
I dont think [name]Aurora[/name] is too difficult to pronounce, at least for me, but I know my mom said she had issues with it when I brought it up when I was pregnant.
I grew up with a friend [name]Aurora[/name] and no one really had issues.
I can say it, but my husband says it and it sounds like he has a mouth full of potatoes. Some people have problems saying those R and O sounds so close together. I would turn it around because I think [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] is very pretty too.
I think [name]Aurore[/name] would be just as hard for some people.
I totally get what you’re saying! I don’t know what it is, but in my head it sounds so lovely, and when I say it, that first “r” trips me up. [name]Don[/name]'t get me wrong, I can say it. If I met an [name]Aurora[/name] I would say it right, but would probably over-pronounce it, if that makes sense, in hopes of not stumbling.
Eerie – these are my two favorite girl’s names and I thought they were totally out there; it’s so weird to see them in the same post. I think I slightly prefer [name]Aurelia[/name] because I love the sound of it, but it doesn’t go with our last name very well, so I’ve switched over to [name]Aurora[/name], which is so lovely. I have to admit that, despite everyone’s great descriptions, I’m having trouble understanding how people would mispronounce it, or rather not be able to pronounce it. [name]Aurore[/name] is much harder to say for me and just sounds wrong, but that could be because I’ve loved [name]Aurora[/name] for so long. Everyone says things differently, though, even common names, so I wouldn’t be too concerned about it.
[name]Aurora[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] is absolutely beautiful.
[name]Aurora[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] is beautiful, but I do agree that [name]Aurora[/name] sometimes comes out a little fuzzy. I think having a good nn to fall back on is good because even though an adult could probably manage it, the preschool class of a little [name]Aurora[/name] (or even little [name]Aurora[/name] herself) might have a difficult time pronouncing it.
I also think [name]Aurore[/name] is even harder because the last a in [name]Aurora[/name] gives it a little more definition, where as the first r in [name]Aurore[/name]/[name]Aurora[/name] is usually what trips people up.
Okay, I just said it like 50 times in a row, and I kind of see what people are saying. I find it easier to get the right sound if I say “O-rora” because it comes out easier and smoother and still sounds like “Au-rora” because the emphasis isn’t on the “O”; it’s on the second syllable. I’m not sure that makes sense. Sorry. I’m not great at describing things like this.
I love both [name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Aurore[/name]! I also adore [name]Aurelia[/name] and [name]Aurelie[/name], haha. I just have a thing for [name]Ari[/name] names.
I really don’t think [name]Aurore[/name] is any easier than [name]Aurora[/name], though–it just doesn’t sound right without the French "R"s, and those French "R"s are just the death of me, especially so close together! I find [name]Aurora[/name] so much easier to say. I can understand where it would be hard to say, but ultimately I do think [name]Aurora[/name] is easier.
My name is [name]Aurora[/name], and I’ve never noticed anyone I meet having a hard time mispronouncing or “overpronouncing” it. The only issue I sometimes have is that if I don’t speak out clearly enough (I’m a bit soft-spoken, evidently), people hear “[name]Laura[/name].”
I have seven younger siblings, and my name is usually one of the first the babies learn to say! It won’t come out correctly at first, but they seem to be fascinated by those ‘O’ and ‘A’ sounds.
I think it’s a lovely name, though I may be biased! [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] is a lovely combo.
