Pronunciation of Georgiana?

I know there are many, but what is the common pronunciation of [name]Georgiana[/name]? (I am in the U. S.). I love it for a future girl, but I dislike names with pronunciation issues.

I say jor-jee-[name]AH[/name]-nah. It’s simply stunning–I hope you do get to use it!

Good luck!

I pronounce it like the poster above, but I’m not gonna lie…I had to do a double take. When I first looked at it, I read it as [name]Georgina[/name] (jor-JEE-nah). Then I noticed the A that made it [name]Georgiana[/name].

I’d say the same as the first poster. But I have seen it pronounced jor-jay-na (Duchess of Devonshire…not exactly a recent person).

Mmm, I have seen this too! I forgot about it when replying. I do like both pronunciations, but I automatically lean toward jor-jee-[name]AH[/name]-nah…

I say it sort of like 2 syllables and not 3 “jor janna” Im not sure if thats correct but I know a [name]Georgiana[/name] and thats how she pronounces it. [name]Ive[/name] only met one, I think its a cool name!

I’ve heard it all three ways too. That’s why I was wondering if there was one way that was most common. It seems like anything goes though. That makes it a bit less usable to me. Thank you for your input!

I’m called [name]Georgiana[/name] and it gets pronounced jor-jay-na but that’s because my mum liked the older way of saying it how it was originally was by eighteenth century aristocracy. But you can pronounce it jor-jee-ah-na if you prefer it that way!! Also im from the Uk so maybe it sounds different in my accent aswell! Though I would say you often end up correcting people who think you can’t pronounce you’re own name as they think it’s [name]Georgina[/name]!

I say it kind of like thetxbelle, like jor-janna.

I would say it jor-jee-anna. Like [name]George[/name] and [name]Gianna[/name] put together.

I would say jor-gee-aw-nuh. Some poeple may pronounce it jor-gee-anne-uh, but for me the “ana” means aw-nuh and “anna” means anne-uh.

I’d pronounce it jor-jee-an-na. Although I could see some might say jor-jee-ahn-na

Jor-jiah-na. pretty much jor-gee-ah-na with the middle 2 syllables morphed into one! Am in the UK!

This is my second favourite name, so I’m delighted to see it getting some love! I tend to pronounce it jor-jay-na (but I am in the UK), but I also know that lots of people say jor-jee-ah-na. I think both are stunning.

Good luck

Jor-jay-na. Like the Duchess of Devonshire.

I’ve always said jor-gee-ah-na, which I think is gorgeous by the way.

I say it like jor-jee-ah-na.

I too also love both of the pronounciations. I’m also from the UK.
