I recently stumbled upon the name Gheelani or Geelani. I think it’s breathtaking and means ‘many songs’ in Sanskrit. It’s also the first name of [name_f]Norah[/name_f] [name_m]Jones[/name_m]. I haven’t found any pronunciation and whether one of the spellings is more correct than the other, do you have any clue?
UPDATE: I’m terribly sorry, I’ve must have had a brain fart. I feel so dumb. It’s supposed to be Gheetali/Geetali/Geethali.
I would assume the name is pronounced gee-TAH-lee, but I have no experience with Sanskrit, so I could be very wrong. I don’t know which spelling would be the original.
Please don’t feel dumb!!! Everyone makes mistakes sometimes!
I read the name as gee-tah-lee (with a hard g), but I have no idea what the correct pronunciation would be, sorry! I tried looking it up, but all I found was that it’s a form of the name Gitali, not sure if that helps!
(It also reminds me of the name [name_f]Gita[/name_f], which can mean song, I don’t know if they’re actually related or not!)
