I have always pronounced it MOD but I’ve heard other people pronounce it MODE. How do you pronounce it?

In the U.K. we pronounce it to rhyme with bored. [name_f]Maude[/name_f] - more-d

Mawd, which I suppose would be Mod, but I don’t really say them the exact same in my accent.

I say the vowel more like “aww” than “ahh,” but it’s closer to Mod so I picked that option.

I also say it to rhyme with “bored” (British accent) – MAWD.

Rhymes with the word “awed” in my accent—the vowel sound is sort of drawn out…

M-awed. [name_m]Hi[/name_m], fellow [name_f]English[/name_f] accent crew!

So here’s the thing there’s a slight difference in emphasis for the name depending on people and region I’ve head [name_f]Maude[/name_f] as Maw-d and as M-Odd both are quite pretty in my estimation but its a subtle difference that might make a difference to some people.

I would say mawd/mod (they sound in the same in my accent) in [name_f]English[/name_f], and mode in [name_u]French[/name_u].
