I feel like this is a stupid question but how do you pronounce [name_f]Selene[/name_f]? I just read somewhere that it’s pronounced much differently to how I thought it was, though I’ve never heard it pronounced like that.
Thanks

I would pronounce it Suh-lene, I think that’s how I’d type it out lol!
Se-leen (like [name_f]Selena[/name_f] without the a.
@sheflieswithherownwings and @OpheliafloraI thought so, but was kinda thrown when I read it in a name dictionary that it was pronounced sell-ee-nee.
Makes a bit of sense when you consider [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f]… But it doesn’t sound right to me.
The commonly used pronunciation is Səh-leen, but I believe that the original Greek one is see-[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-nee.
It’s meant to be ‘seh-LEEN-ee’, as far as I know.
Se-leen, or Se-lenn, depending if you’re using the typical English pronunciation, or a [name_m]French[/name_m] pronunciation
Thank you everyone!
@lawsonhaley, I didn’t realise there was a [name_m]French[/name_m] pronunciation, but that’s cool. I think I prefer se-leen to it though
