Okay, I am curious, and realised that I may or may not be pronouncing Thaddeus correctly. How do you guys pronounce it???
X
I say it [name_m]Thad[/name_m] (rhymes with cad, pad, lad, dad) -EEE-Us, and I donโt think Iโve ever heard it said differently? But I could see Thad-Ay (like hay, bay, kay, jay) -Us being used in some languages/accents even though Iโve never personally encountered that
Like above (Thad-rhymes-with-pad / ee / us) but with the emphasis on the first syllable.
THAD-ee-iss
โThadโ rhyming with glad or mad (and the โthโ of throw or think rather than this or the), and iss rhyming with hiss or diss.
THAD-ee-ษs
I pronounce it Thad-ee-us ![]()
THAD-ee-us.
I have an acquaintance who has two relatives (nephews, maybe? [name_u]Or[/name_u] a nephew and a grandson?) And one says THAD-ee-us, the other tha-DAY-us.
I say it as Tad-ee-us, as this is how Iโve heard it pronounced locally.
I say Thad-ee-us usually but also Tad-ee-us
I always thought it was TAD-ee-uss but I might be wrong!
I remember an episode of [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] and Ferb where there were characters named [name_u]Thaddeus[/name_u] and [name_m]Thor[/name_m], and they pronounced it THAD-ee-us
THAD-ee-iss
I say thad-dee-us
i pronounce it as โthah-dee-us.โ
I pronounce it tah-DEH-us.
[name_f]My[/name_f] pronunciation is influenced by the the Polish [name_m]Tadeusz[/name_m] (tah-DEH-oosh) though, one of my favorite Polish names.
