Pros: classic, timeless, nickname rich.
Cons: I guess it’s common? But really with a true classic I don’t think that’s a dealbreaker.

Pros: all of the wonderful nickname potential! I especially love Libby/Eliza

Cons: It doesn’t feel fresh or exciting

The only [name_u]Con[/name_u] I have is a prefer the [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] spelling!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]

Pros: A beautiful, timeless name. [name_u]Perfect[/name_u] as a first name or a middle name. [name_m]Plenty[/name_m] of nicknames (Ellie, [name_f]Beth[/name_f], [name_u]Elia[/name_u], Lizzy…)

Cons: Usually considered an old name (some people might say grandmotherly). Probably because it’s been so popular for so many years. Maybe because of the [name_f]Queen[/name_f].

Also… Hamilton’s “Peggy, [name_f]Angelica[/name_f], ELIZA!!” But to me, that’s a pro.

Pros:
-Very well known! You likely won’t get any “Oh, that’s weird” comments
-Unlikely there will be significant pronunciation or spelling mistakes
-A great deal of potential nicknames
-A diversity of associations: it’s not overpoweringly attached to any one person
-Not dated to any particular time
-Pretty and solid, traditional to many
-Many international varients and lots of international use- makes this name easy to travel with

Cons:
-Very well used. Many may find it boring, and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] might share her name with other Elizabeths
-May be nicknamed with a nickname you don’t like!
-Does have the alternate spelling of [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], which could cause some confusion
-Because it has so many wearers, some might have negative associations
-May feel too traditional for some styles

Pros: versatile, elegant, historical significance, classy.
Cons: quite long to say and write.

Pros: classic, vintage, ton of nicknames (here’s looking at you [name_f]Libby[/name_f], [name_f]Bess[/name_f], and Eliza), well known, spelling and pronunciation shouldn’t be a problem

Cons: tons of nicknames (see above), long, Hard to use without a nickname, one of the most used middle names (like [name_f]Ann[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], and Kate).

Both my pros and cons could be a matter of opinion. One thing I didn’t list in either, but came to mind - I was almost an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. The night before the scheduled c-section my older brother changed the name and my parents agreed. [name_f]My[/name_f] entire life I have been glad that happened. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a beautiful name, but it would not have suited me. It’s way too clunky and heavy and I feel like could be a lot to live up to. I know very few, if any, other than England’s queen that actually go by the full name.

pros: familiar, classic, lots of nicknames (the kid can choose something they’d like to go by)

cons: quite popular, could be nicknamed something you or the child doesn’t like, possible negative associations because it’s so popular (you could see your beloved grandmother, someone else could see their rude sister-in-law, etc.)
