I was talking with my mom about names and she said she really thinks I ought to honor my Mother-in-[name_m]Law[/name_m] or her side of the family with the next name if I’m to include an honor name at all.
Her reasoning was that our side of the family was very much honored with HF’s name, obviously I have chosen to honor AR’s birth family in keeping his name, and my FIL’s side of the family has the continuation of their surname for all our kids. FIL and MIL are divorced and so really it is just MIL’s family that hasn’t been touched by our naming yet.
I’m not sure if I’m on board with this idea. But I’m certainly willing to explore it. I have included a couple different honor combos for her in the past in our search for the one, but if I’m prioritizing her (or her side of the family), things might look a little different.

For a [name_m]Tam[/name_m] or [name_u]Lee[/name_u] to be an honor I would think the combo would need to include another honor name… but maybe that’s just me.

MIL had two children. [name_f]My[/name_f] SIL is [name_f]J@cqueline[/name_f], who will not be having children (just entering her 40s and has never liked or wanted children so I don’t think she is changing her mind). MIL’s brother is W@i-[name_m]M1ng[/name_m] (pretty sure that would be the same “[name_m]M1ng[/name_m]” character). He is married to [name_f]L0is[/name_f] but they never had children. So those are two additional lines that are dying out from her side. I like all those people, so wouldn’t mind using a name to honor one of them, but only if I loved it of course, like these names:
