Quincy?

My partner and I are trying for a baby and I’m busy looking around for baby names.

I’ve come across and really love the name [name_u]Quincy[/name_u], but an not sure whether I like it more for a girl or boy.

What do you all think?

I like it a lot, actually! I think I prefer it for a girl, but like it on either (especially as a middle).

I love it for both! Q is my favorite letter for boy names. I love the idea of calling a [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] minimal “Q” or the nature-slanted “[name_u]Quince[/name_u]”. It’s close enough to [name_u]Quin[/name_u] & [name_m]Quint[/name_m] to maintain a masculine feel.
But I can also picture [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] really easily on a girl! There’s a girl at my college named [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] and it fits her perfectly; she’s very artsy, into theater, wears dramatic lipsticks. The “Y” ending fits easily with popular ending sounds “Y”, via the fun [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] or delicate [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], and “ie”, via trending [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] and [name_f]Millie[/name_f].
I think it’s one of the few names that, for me, has absolutely no lean. I think you’ve stumbled on a great choice for either gender!

I love [name_u]Quincy[/name_u]. I much prefer it for a boy/man. It’s all boy to me.

[name_u]Quincy[/name_u] is great, especially for a boy! I would suggest [name_f]Quenby[/name_f] for a girl

I prefer it on a boy! Here in The Netherlands Quinty is usually used for a girl, and [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] on a boy

I only like it for a boy. Given the handful of Quincys I’ve met, its use on girls is baffling to me.

[name_u]Quincy[/name_u] is all boy to me. It’s not my favorite name, but definitely works. I am more of a [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] fan.

This is a tricky one! Whilst I prefer [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] on a girl, I think I prefer [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] on a boy, although I wouldn’t say no to it on a girl either.

There’s a little boy named [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] in my son’s daycare class, and my husband and I were just discussing the other day how adorable the name is. It definitely feels more masculine to me.

I love this name, but definitely only for a boy!! Sooo cute!
