[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I were talking about names tonight and [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] came up. It started with [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], but then I said [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] paired with our last name. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband didn’t hate it right away which is a plus, because he had been on a vetoing streak beforehand!
What are your thoughts on [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] for a girl? Is it useable? More feminine middle name suggestions to pair with it?
I know one person named [name_u]Quincy[/name_u], she’s a girl at my school! I think it’s a name that works both ways and can definitely be feminine, helped by the -y ending!
I’ve always liked “Q” names for a girl, and [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] has always been a favorite (some of them are a little too out there :)) I’ve hear this on at least one little girl, and I think it’s fine for a girl. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like the name [name_f]Quinna[/name_f] as a potential alternative? I think it’s gorgeous. [name_f]Quinna[/name_f] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] has always been one of my favorite combos. But, all in all, I think [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] is definitely fine for a girl.
[name_u]Quincy[/name_u] has always sounded masculine to me because of the president and the [name_m]Little[/name_m] Einsteins character but I’ve met a girl [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] before so it works. I don’t mind it on a girl, it’s even one I could see potentially growing on me.
Thank you for all of the suggestions! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband now says he loves [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and likes [name_u]Quincy[/name_u], which I think is very good progress haha. I prefer the sound of [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] with our last name (which ends with -an but sounds like -in) and mentioned he could use [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] as a nickname, and he seemed content with that. I’m thinking it would be [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] [name_f]Jayne[/name_f] - my mom & sister’s middle name/spelling - or [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] [name_u]June[/name_u] for [name_f]Judith[/name_f] (grandma) and [name_f]Jayne[/name_f]. I’m going to let my husband read this list too!
One more question - our top boy names are [name_m]Griffin[/name_m], [name_m]Seamus[/name_m], and [name_u]Kieran[/name_u]. Our other top girl names are [name_u]Clare[/name_u] and [name_f]Brigid[/name_f]. Would these work as possible siblings for a little girl [name_u]Quincy[/name_u]?
I love your other names! [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] feels a little more modern to me, but I still think it works because they all have that little quirkiness to them!
Thanks @IrinaNicolaStrong and @may.rose! I agree it’s a little more modern. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband is still pulling strong for [name_u]Clare[/name_u] and [name_f]Brigid[/name_f] was my first girl name love, but at least we have another option!
I know someone with a little girl named [name_u]Quincy[/name_u]! This feels like a name that can easily live in neutral territory to me, even if you don’t see it as much as some other traditional masc names on afab kids. I mean, we’ve seen how well [name_u]Remy[/name_u] and [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] have worked as gender neutral choices, [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] feels similar.
[name_u]Quincy[/name_u] [name_f]Jayne[/name_f] is a fabulous combo.
Also idk if you plan to have more kiddos but I think, looking ahead, [name_u]Clare[/name_u] (your husband’s current fav) would be a great sibling name with [name_u]Quincy[/name_u].
If you end up not going with [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] [name_f]Jayne[/name_f] or [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] [name_u]Clare[/name_u] and [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] [name_f]Brigid[/name_f] sound really nice!
