I love the name [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] because of how classic it is and it’s history. However, I feel it’s bland in some ways despite that and not very impactful.
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] is a lot more exotic, and has a sweeter feel. However, it seems too weird in a way with all that said. Also, for a non-Hispanic character, it seems strange to me since [name_f]Raquel[/name_f] is clearly Hispanic to me.
I’m wondering, which do you guys prefer? Also, I’m using this for a character. Currently, I’m somewhat leaning towards [name_f]Raquel[/name_f] but Rach is still up in grabs.
I’d go a happy medium and say [name_f]Rochelle[/name_f]. Slightly more exotic but not as tied to one culture
I like [name_f]Raquel[/name_f] (and [name_f]Raquela[/name_f]) and think they’re underused. The hard “ch” in [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] is not appealing and Rach is ugly. The nicknames I like either work for both, like [name_u]Rae[/name_u] - or better for [name_f]Raquel[/name_f], like [name_m]Rocky[/name_m]/[name_f]Roxie[/name_f].
As far as classic and simple Biblical girls, I prefer some of the other ones. [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is very simple but I like it.
I adore the name [name_f]Raquel[/name_f]! For the record I know a completely white, Jewish girl named [name_f]Raquel[/name_f] and it suits her well, so I don’t think you have to be Hispanic to wear the name.
