Raelynn?

I need some help! I have fallen in love with the name [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f]. My sister’s middle name is [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] so I though it was a nice way to add her in the name, my sister-in-law’s middle name is [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. So I was thinking [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] has a nice ring to it. Some family have addressed concerns that [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f] is too"out there", what are other people’s thoughts? Or suggestions that would include [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]?

I think “too out there” is a gentle way of telling you that they think it’s tacky. I’m not a fan of [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f] at all. I understand and appreciate the sentiment though.

I agree with southern.maple, [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f] just feels made up. Would you be interested in other [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] variants?

Hmm I agree that [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f] looks a little made up, but it’s certainly not the worst ‘made up’ name I’ve ever heard of. Perhaps the spelling Raylin or [name_f]Raelyn[/name_f] would look a bit better, or even the hyphenated [name_u]Rae[/name_u]-[name_u]Lynn[/name_u]. Some other suggestions:

[name_f]Rhea[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] ([name_u]Ray[/name_u]-uh) [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (or [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f])
[name_f]Adalyn[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Carolyn[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
Annalyn [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilian[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] ([name_f]Lily[/name_f]-[name_u]Lynn[/name_u] might be a cute nickname)
[name_f]Coralyn[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_u]Rylan[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Rainie[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]

Personally, I think [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] (or even [name_f]Raya[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u], Reiya [name_u]Lynn[/name_u], Reya [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]) is the prettiest way to make [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f] a little more classy, but remember that this is your child so the decision is up to you

I just think of the singer and it’s not out there it’s in Americas top 300. What about using [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] and using [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f] as a nickname (though thats where the singers stage name comes from)?

I mean no disrespect, but [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f] is one of those names that makes me visibly cringe. I find it very trendy and a little tacky. It will get lumped in with the thousands and thousands of girls with -lynn tacked on the end of something ([name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u], [name_f]Kaylynn[/name_f], etc). That being said, the name has been done. A girl I went to school with actually welcomed a [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f] two weeks ago, another girl I went to school with has a Raelee, and another girl I went to school with has a [name_u]Rylan[/name_u].

Honestly, though, if you love the name, that should be what you use. [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f] is not the worst name I’ve ever heard. My suggestion to combine [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. Maybe [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]? Or [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f]?

I wouldn’t consider [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f] “too out there” and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a great middle name.

Suggestions:
[name_f]Roslynn[/name_f] - variation of [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_f]Shaelyn[/name_f]/Shaelynn - I know a [name_f]Shaelyn[/name_f] and she has no issues with her name.
[name_f]Ashlynn[/name_f] - i also know an [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f] in her early 20s.
[name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Caitlyn[/name_f]
Lynnley
[name_u]Lynden[/name_u]
[name_f]Lynna[/name_f] or [name_f]Lenna[/name_f]
[name_m]Glynn[/name_m] - as a middle?

You could also use a variation of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] as a first name…

[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] - [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f]? [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_m]Glynn[/name_m]?
[name_f]Bethany[/name_f] - [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f]? [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]?
[name_f]Lilibeth[/name_f] - [name_f]Lilibeth[/name_f] [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f]?
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] - [name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f]?

I think asking for opinions on a newly made up name is a bad idea here. In my honestest of opinions, I think it’s tacky and not at all a name one can grow into. It also makes me think of railing. It is not ‘out there’ at all, as it is quite popular. I think the sentiment is lovely, and I would use [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] as the MN, but think up something else in the FN spot… Or make it ___ [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]/[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u].

Evelyn has always been a favorite name of mine. I recently heard about the name [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f] or [name_f]Raelyn[/name_f] and I actually love it. I have this name wrote down for my future kids. [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is very pretty. I wouldn’t worry about it sounding to made up. If you love the name then who cares? I say DO IT!

I’m glad you like it, but this post is quite old - [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] would be five years old by now!

I realized that after I commented. Either way, people who like the same name can look at it regardless of the year and grab some ideas.

Wow I forgot I even posted this. [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f] is going to be 5 in [name_f]April[/name_f]

We called her [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]. [name_u]Marie[/name_u] was added for my aunt that I was named after and it would have been her 50th birthday the day I was induced. She didn’t come that day but I felt it was important to include her name for that reason.
