I am still collecting names!! Which one of these names do you like more for a boys name or do you like both? Ragan is pronounced like Ronald Reagan it’s the last name of former NASCAR driver David Ragan and Regan is pronounced re-gan it’s the first name of former NASCAR driver Regan Smith.
I prefer the pronunciation ray-gan but I don’t like the spelling Ragan because to me it looks like it should be said like rag-in which is weird. I like the spelling [name_u]Regan[/name_u] but pronounced ray-gan instead of ree-gan.

I’ve never known Regan/Ragan/Reagan/etc has more than one pronunciation, they’re all RAY-gan to me.

I believe [name_u]Regan[/name_u] can be pronounced as ree-gan in the UK, but in [name_u]America[/name_u] it’s typically ray-gan? Maybe someone else can confirm? I’m American and prefer the [name_u]Regan[/name_u] spelling, but also the ray-gan pronunciation since that’s what I’m more used to. To me, [name_u]Regan[/name_u] > Ragan > [name_u]Reagan[/name_u] for sure because the president association is absolutely a no-go for me.

@Youssarian Where I live it’s pronounced both ways but it will be pronounced Ree-gan and not Ray-gan I am not worried about it being mispronounced because I live in a family of NASCAR fans, plus my friends are NASCAR fans and it’s a well known sport where I live

I went with [name_u]Regan[/name_u] (ree-gan) because I think it distances itself a little bit more from the president association, which can be seen as an unfortunate one (and not one I’d personally want for myself or my child)!
