Raphael vs Odin

The trouble were having with these names is we love them equally.
My other 2 children have unusual names but both 2 syllables. I feel swayed towards Odin because of the 2 syllables but I also adore Raffy as a 2 syllable nn for Raphael. So I’m now just wondering on other peoples opinions.

Non offensive comments please.

[name_m]Raphael[/name_m] is spunky and handsome! I like it

In general, I prefer [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] for its sound and its vibe. But my vote would ultimately depend on which fits better with your older children’s names.

I love [name_m]Raphael[/name_m]. It is probably just me but I would only use [name_m]Odin[/name_m] if I had some kind of Nordic ancestry ( I don’t) but my kids do through their dad.
And [name_m]Odin[/name_m] pronounced in the Nordic countries is pronounced as O-thin.
Ultimately go with what you love

i know a little boy called [name_m]Odin[/name_m] and he carries it well - i do think pronunciation could be an issue for some people but it’s cool and really stands out!

stylistically raphael feels very different but is still super handsome and the nickname [name_m]Raffy[/name_m] / [name_m]Raf[/name_m] gives it a bit more versatility.

Personally I’d go with [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] because although the [name_m]Odin[/name_m] I know carries it well I do think it’s a very bold choice

I love [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] so much! It’s so handsome and sweet. [name_m]Odin[/name_m] is nice too, though. I know a little [name_m]Odin[/name_m] who suits the name well. I saw your children’s names, and I think both fit nicely, but I slightly prefer [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] (especially with brothers name)!!

Good luck

I like both names, but I’d also go with [name_m]Raphael[/name_m]. It’s got more substance to it and I love your nickname. [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] [name_m]Odin[/name_m] is a really handsome combo.

I really love [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] “Raffy” It feels more timeless than [name_m]Odin[/name_m], and is just such a beautiful name. [name_m]Raffy[/name_m] is super cool and fun for short.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

They’re both beautiful yet strong & masculine. Simple & unique but not overly complicated. [name_f]My[/name_f] only hesitation w/Odin would be that people will probably mistake it for [name_u]Owen[/name_u] a lot. I could be wrong, but that would be annoying. [name_m]Raffy[/name_m] is so sweet & unexpected. I also love the nn [name_u]Rafe[/name_u].

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

I like both, but I’d go with [name_m]Oden[/name_m], the Swedish variant.

They have very different vibes for me. [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] is an angel, so I think Biblical or religious. And [name_m]Odin[/name_m] mythology so I think… Not religious.

They’re both strong names tho and I like both! I guess because I’m not religious, I lean towards [name_m]Odin[/name_m].

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband is just really into all that is norse , I’m like 2% Scandinavian going by ancestry :rofl: not quite the full viking so I cant say I really have a large ancestral connection at all  but it’s a name my hubby adores.

We arent religious in anyway…to tell you the truth the name inspiration is more of the turtle kind for [name_m]Raphael[/name_m]:turtle: #ifyouknowyouknow
We are just nerds  other childrens names were from an anime and the other a video game. Not because we were obsessed with the game or programme but because we finally found names we loved and we dont mind the nerd connections
