So these are names I have recently taken OFF my list of favorites. I love them but I’m not in love with them. I would still consider some of them for middle names but, as of right now, I don’t like them enough to potentially use them as first names. So rate, comment, rank whatever you want to do
[name_f]Alessi[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] (claire-uh)
[name_f]Giada[/name_f]- I prefer a pronunciation that’s incorrect so it’s probably best to just take it off the list.
[name_f]Gianna[/name_f]
[name_u]Indie[/name_u]
[name_f]Kaia[/name_f]
[name_f]Layla[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Alessi[/name_f] -it is pretty and intriguing but I do slightly prefer [name_f]Alessia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] -this has flair and elegance
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - classic with literary ties
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - this pn is not for me, but I don’t hate it
[name_f]Giada[/name_f]- this is an intriguing name that’s been growing on me
[name_f]Gianna[/name_f] - pretty and stylish
[name_u]Indie[/name_u] - full of spark - a lovely name
[name_f]Kaia[/name_f] -this has kick and sweetness, a fave
[name_f]Layla[/name_f] -pretty cute with a cool meaning
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] -sweet and simple
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] - sharp but sweet
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] - quite nice, prefer [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] though
[name_f]Alessi[/name_f] is my favorite - What a great meaning, “defender” But I do agree with [name_f]Grace[/name_f], I prefer Alessia… I guess [name_f]Alessi[/name_f] feels a bit incomplete
Overall list in order of favorite to least favorite. Like:
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] (bright, feminine, and sounds like a book character)
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] (elegant and surprisingly uncommon)
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] (stylish and sweet)
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Gianna[/name_f] (with the typical American pronunciation, Gee-Ah-na)
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
Dislike:
[name_f]Alessi[/name_f] (it’s pretty, but sounds like “a lesser” to me. I imagine saying “Hi, I’m [name_f]Alessi[/name_f], and then I think “a lesser what?”)
[name_f]Gianna[/name_f] (with the actual Italian pronunciation)
[name_u]Indie[/name_u] (sounds like an adjective to me, although the sound is cute.)
[name_f]Giada[/name_f]
my favorites are [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Giada[/name_f] and [name_f]Layla[/name_f]!
and my least favorites are [name_f]Alessi[/name_f] (reminds me of the word less), [name_u]Indie[/name_u] (hard for me to separate from indie music, indie bookstores, etc), and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] (not super interesting to me as a full name, prefer it as a nickname for Theodora/Theodosia).
Alessi - 4/10
Cecelia - 3/10 (Cecilia would be higher)
Charlotte - 8/10 (would be higher if not so popular)
Clara - 2/10 (KLAA-ra would be a 10!!)
Giada - 4/10 (I’m totally unfamiliar with this)
Gianna - 6/10
Indie - 7/10
Kaia - 6/10
Layla - 9/10
Thea - 5/10
Violet - 10/10
Vivienne - 8/10
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] - I love this 9/10
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] - very pretty 7/10
[name_f]Kaia[/name_f] - cute 6/10
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - classic 6/10
I would take down:
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] - trendy, bland
[name_f]Layla[/name_f] - trendy, too close to [name_f]Kayla[/name_f] but I like [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and [name_f]Leila[/name_f]
[name_u]Indie[/name_u] - band, movie etc.
[name_f]Gianna[/name_f] - mispronounced in the US
[name_f]Giada[/name_f] - same
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - carrot, maggot, harlot
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] - looks misspelled
[name_f]Alessi[/name_f] - people will always think you forget the A for [name_f]Alessia[/name_f]
@regionlatbest I believe the correct pronunciation is more like jaw-duh but I thought it was pronounced like Gee-ah-duh. I feel like most Americans would say it that way.
[name_f]Alessi[/name_f] - 3/10
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] - 8/10 (I also love Celia)
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - 7/10 (I do love it but I’m tired of it)
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - 10/10
[name_f]Giada[/name_f] - 3/10
[name_f]Gianna[/name_f] - 5/10
[name_u]Indie[/name_u] - 1/10
[name_f]Kaia[/name_f] - 5/10 (I like it but I also feel like it’s fits a trend a don’t care for)
[name_f]Layla[/name_f] - 10/10 (I love this, even though it fits a trend I don’t like. I mean I really love it!)
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] - 7/10 (I want to like this more. Maybe someday!)
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] - 7/10
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] - 8/10
Alessi 9/10 haven’t heard it before but i really like it
Cecelia 2/10 it feels old to me but as a mn id like it more
Charlotte 0/10 sorry
Clara (claire-uh) 3/10 knew a klara who I didn’t like that much so ya
Giada- I prefer a pronunciation that’s incorrect so it’s probably best to just take it off the list. 5/10 btw i do this all the time bc when i read a name i just make up how i want it pronounced and then I realize it’s not at all loke that
Gianna 4/10 personally i like Gianina better
Indie 8/10
Kaia i just think of Kaia Scodelario
Layla 1/10 not a fan
Thea 1000/10 especially if it’s a nickname for theodosia, althea or anthea but thea on its own is adorable

Oh, I get that! I know a bunch of people though, who are JEE-ah-da not JAH-dah, just as much as I’ve known for [name_f]Gianna[/name_f], JEE-ah-na and not JAH-na. Those are common pronunciation in [name_u]America[/name_u], so it’s not impossible to go for! It’s way more common, the American way, pronounced by choice. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] that makes sense!
[name_f]Alessi[/name_f]— 6/10, like it, but I prefer Alessa/Alessandra
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]— 5/10, I prefer [name_f]Cecily[/name_f].
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]— 10/10, my favorite name!
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]— (KLAARA) 9/10, absolutely love!
(CLAIRE-ah) 4/10, not a fan
[name_f]Giada[/name_f]— 10/10, both pronunciation!
[name_f]Gianna[/name_f]— 8/10 (JAH-na), 6/10 (JEE-ah-na)
[name_u]Indie[/name_u]— 6/10, love if short for [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] (g)
[name_f]Kaia[/name_f]— 5/10, don’t know too much about it, but I like the sound
[name_f]Layla[/name_f]— 6/10, I like it! I prefer [name_f]Lila[/name_f], but not opposed to [name_f]Layla[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]— 7/10, I like it, I’m just not a fan of the overall sound
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]— 9/10, I love this one!
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]— 8/10, generally not a fan of [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] names, but I am fond of this one!
