From 1-10/ Comments welcome too! These are names of students I’ve taught over the years. All girl names

Lucienne (pronounced Loo-see-EN)
[name_f]Kristin[/name_f]
[name_m]Chayse[/name_m]
[name_f]Katelyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Star[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]

Lucienne - 9/10 - I first heard this because it’s the middle name of my friend’s sister and I thought it was beautiful!

Kristin - 5/10 - It’s a perfectly nice name, I’ve just never been a fan personally. [name_f]Kirsti[/name_f] is a really sweet nickname, though.

Chayse - 4/10 - I would prefer the [name_u]Chase[/name_u] spelling, and for a boy.

Katelyn - 6/10 - I prefer the [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] or [name_f]Caitlyn[/name_f] spellings, but I like the sound.

Star - 6/10 - I think it’s a really pretty name, but I like it as a middle name better than a first name.

Evelyn - 8/10 - Great name! I’ve never personally loved it but I see the appeal and understand why it’s so popular.

[name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] (pronounced Loo-see-EN) : 8. I think it’s really pretty and it’s probably my favorite long form of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
Kristin : 5. Nothing wrong with it, I’m just totally neutral.
Chayse : 6. I like the sound but I’d prefer it without the y and I also don’t love that it’s a verb.
Katelyn : 9. I know it’s super popular/ past its heyday but I just can’t find fault with this one. I would use it.
Star : 7. Wouldn’t be brave enough to use, but I do really like it.
Evelyn : 4. I feel like it’s becoming the go to name. I’d prefer just [name_f]Eve[/name_f].

Lucienne- 4/10, I prefer [name_m]Lucien[/name_m] for a boy
[name_f]Kristin[/name_f]- 2/10, dated
[name_m]Chayse[/name_m]- 3/10, I don’t mind just [name_u]Chase[/name_u] for a girl though
[name_f]Katelyn[/name_f]- 2/10, boring imo
[name_f]Star[/name_f]- 4/10, it’s okay but there are better word names
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]- 4/10, getting popular and isn’t my favorite either

Lucienne - 4 - this looks fussy to me, and I prefer [name_m]Lucien[/name_m] for a boy so this just looks like someone tried to make a girl name from it. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is a nice nn though.

Kristin - 3 - looks and sounds dated

Chayse - 0 - the ‘y’ is an unnecessary addition to what I find a masculine name

Katelyn - 7 - I like it but prefer [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f].

Star - 0 - just not a name I can see on a human of any age tbh. Maybe as a middle.

Evelyn - 7 - I like this but it sounds old fashioned as I only know of one elderly lady (she’s a grandmother)

Lucienne 7/10
[name_f]Kristin[/name_f] 2/10
[name_m]Chayse[/name_m] 1/10
[name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] 1/10
[name_f]Star[/name_f] 2/10
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] 2.5/10

[name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] (pronounced Loo-see-EN) 3
Kristin 4
Chayse 3
Katelyn 5
Star 2
Evelyn 4

I feel like a negative nelly, but none of these really do it for me. I ranked them by whether or not I would use them, but none of these are bad names.

[name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] 9/10
[name_f]Kristin[/name_f] 4/10
[name_m]Chayse[/name_m] 1/10
[name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] 5/10
[name_f]Star[/name_f] 3/10
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] 5/10

Lucienne- 7. pretty, just not my style. I prefer [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]

Kristin- 7. dated, but still a really cute name

Chayse- 5. seems dated to the early 2000’s, but it’s not bad.

Katelyn- 7. same as [name_m]Chayse[/name_m], but I do think this is a cute name and I like this spelling the best out of all of them. [name_f]Kate[/name_f] seems like a fresher option

Star- 4. I gave it a 4 because it’s not a bad name, I just don’t like it

Evelyn- 9. it’s too popular for my taste now, but it’s a lovely vintage comeback. I love Ev, [name_f]Eva[/name_f] and [name_f]Evie[/name_f] as nicknames!

From fav to least fav

  1. Kristin
  2. Evelyn
  3. Lucienne
  4. Katelyn
  5. Star
  6. Chayse

Lucienne - 6-/10 (I like the idea of this name but the pronunciation threw me off)

Kristin - 5/10 (I like this name, but I prefer the original [name_f]Christine[/name_f]/Christina variations and it seems a bit dated to me)

Chayse - 6/10 (I like how the ‘y’ feminises this name, but it’s quite strongly associated with a sporty teenage guy for me)

Katelyn - 7/10 (I think this is a pretty name but I prefer other spelling variations to make it seem more classic and mature)

Star - 4/10 (This is quite pretty but seems hard to pull off for an adult)

Evelyn - 9/10 (I think this is a gorgeous name with great nickname options. I like how it’s both vintage-y and modern)
