saw someone was naming there baby rayleigh today, your thoughts? i’m not going to say my opinion because i dont want to bias the answers
Not terrible, but not great either. Not really my style, but if I met a little girl named Rayleigh I would probably think it was cute.
Blech.
I’m so sick of the -aelyn/-ayleigh trend. It started with [name]Bailey[/name]/[name]Bayleigh[/name], [name]Kayleigh[/name], etc., and it only gets worse. It’s just like [name]Aiden[/name] for the girls and I don’t see the appeal at all.
Ick. So trendy and I tried too hard.
I’m on the fence with this one. Although the sound is appealing (despite fitting into the over-popular [name]Hailey[/name]/[name]Bailey[/name]/[name]Kailey[/name] trend), Raley’s (same pn) is a grocery store chain where I used to live in Northern [name]California[/name]. I, personally, would not use it just because of that - I don’t particularly want my friends/family in NorCal to think I named my child after the grocery store!
Makes me think of ‘[name]Raleigh[/name]’ (as in Sir [name]Walter[/name]…! A famous English Aristocrat/poet/soldier/writer and what have you). I also want to say ‘Rayleigh-Scaly’ in my head.
Not my kinda thing. I don’t see any reason to judge the parents, though.
Far too modern, tryndee and kre8iv for my tastes. Looks a little unisex too. Not a fan!
I like Rayleigh because it’s feminine, but strong and decided. It reminds me of Rayleigh Scattering, which makes skies and eyes blue.
I am so tired of this trend.
Rayleigh, [name_f]Baileigh[/name_f], Brynleigh, they’re all way way way too much anymore imo. [name_f]Hayleigh[/name_f] and [name_f]Kayleigh[/name_f] are the only ones I can really tolerate, [name_f]Kayleigh[/name_f] - because it’s the only form that’s really used in the UK, so I know quite a few, and [name_f]Hayleigh[/name_f], because my mum nearly used that spelling for me.
Who keeps bringing up these ancient threads?
It’s so weird reading my replies from years ago!
