I have been having a Netflix binge and was watching [name_m]Doctor[/name_m] Who’s The Dalek Asylum with [name_f]Clara[/name_f] as [name_m]Oswin[/name_m] and I just started to think of how much I love the name [name_m]Oswin[/name_m]/Oswyn.
I know it’s not necessarily a girl’s name but I’m just really feeling it. What do you think? Could it work? I feel like it blends well with our other children’s names.

I love the name [name_m]Oswin[/name_m] it’s on our boys name short list.
It’s unique without being too out there.
Not for a girl, imo. Try [name_f]Yazmin[/name_f] or a double barrel like [name_u]Asa[/name_u]-[name_u]Wyn[/name_u], Ozia-[name_u]Wynne[/name_u], [name_f]Ozma[/name_f]-[name_u]Winn[/name_u], or even [name_f]Esme[/name_f]-[name_u]Wynn[/name_u]!
I like [name_m]Oswin[/name_m], and I like it more and more every time I watch [name_m]Doctor[/name_m] Who (I love [name_f]Clara[/name_f]!). I’m not sure if I like it more for a girl or boy. I think I can just really imagine it on a girl because of DW, but it might be better suited for a boy in real life.
Meh. I think it’s because [name_f]Clara[/name_f]'s one of my least favorite companions (there’s only one I dislike more, and that’s [name_f]Donna[/name_f]!), but I just can’t get excited for [name_m]Oswin[/name_m]. It sounds very masculine to me (like a combination of [name_m]Oswald[/name_m] and [name_m]Edwin[/name_m]), and I like other -win/wen/wyn names much more (including [name_f]Anwen[/name_f], [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], [name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f], and [name_f]Olwen[/name_f]). It’s a nice enough name, but I’m not too fond of it, unfortunately. I feel like it’d be too close to [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]'s name, too, maybe. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and [name_m]Oswin[/name_m]?
