We enjoy Emily and Jason Morrow’s Really Very Crunchy videos when they come across our feeds
She recently announced baby #3 is coming in July, a sibling for brothers Oaks and Alder.
What do you think? Another tree name? I feel like Rowan could be the perfect brother name—another tree, different initial and ending sound. Also thought of Elm, Birch, and Sequoia, but I feel like those are maybe too out-there (I think Jason would veto Sequoia
) Otherwise something like Brooks, Wells, River—another nature name for sure.
For a girl, I feel like they might go with something like Birdie, Meadow, Sparrow (probably not with the surname though), Daisy over a tree name. Aspen (or Rowan for a girl!) would be cute though.

Oooh, these names are gorgeous!! I see their videos from time to time (one of the only accounts of that sort where I can never quite tell where the satire ends and begins
), and always thought they were quite funny. I didn’t realize her sons had such beautiful names!

I know, right? It’s over the top, but how over the top for them, exactly?

[name_m]Oaks[/name_m] and [name_m]Alder[/name_m] are such a committed vibe that I cannot imagine them abandoning the nature theme now.
[name_f][/name_f]
I honestly think [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] is spot-on as it has the same outdoorsy feel and familiar without sounding try-hard. [name_f]My[/name_f] only hesitation is it’s quite a bit more popular/trendy than [name_m]Oaks[/name_m] and [name_m]Alder[/name_m], so I wonder if they’d skip it for something a little more under-the-radar? It is perfect for either a girl or boy tho!
[name_f][/name_f]
I agree that [name_m]Elm[/name_m], [name_m]Heath[/name_m], [name_m]Grove[/name_m], [name_m]Clove[/name_m], [name_m]Robin[/name_m], [name_f]Aspen[/name_f], [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] and [name_f]Fern[/name_f] are likely on their lists.
[name_f][/name_f]
I think they could/should also consider: [name_m]Linden[/name_m], [name_m]Pine[/name_m], [name_m]Reed[/name_m], [name_m]Hollis[/name_m], [name_m]Ash[/name_m], [name_f]Ashby[/name_f], [name_m]Sorrel[/name_m], [name_f]Sage[/name_f], [name_m]Leaf[/name_m], [name_m]Lake[/name_m], [name_m]Cove[/name_m], [name_f]Maple[/name_f], [name_f]Lark[/name_f], [name_f]Tulip[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Lotus[/name_f], [name_f]Pepper[/name_f], [name_f]Saffron[/name_f], [name_f]Valley[/name_f]

I was kind of under the impression that the boys being named [name_m]Oaks[/name_m] and [name_m]Alder[/name_m] was part of the kayfabe of Really Very Crunchy’s content and assumed that their sons who occasionally appear in the content have different names. I may be wrong, I take things literally to a diagnostic degree
[name_f][/name_f] so this wishy-washy, is-it-satire-is-it-not, makes my brain hurt. But from the beginning when it seemed very like satire she used the very hippie/crunchy names even before her actual sons started appearing in the skits and I think the theory’s kind of bolstered by how “on theme” they are.
[name_f][/name_f]
Under that assumption I think the content move would be to do the crunchy equivalent of [name_f]Disney[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f], go a little bit too far pick something that is bizarre to get clicks. I’m thinking along the lines of Walnut, [name_m]Redwood[/name_m], Pawpaw or maybe something that feels normal here on Nameberry but not so much outside of our bubble like [name_f]Maple[/name_f], [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m], [name_m]Sycamore[/name_m] or [name_f]Acacia[/name_f]. I’d even through my guilty pleasure [name_m]Woodland[/name_m] under that particular bus.
[name_f][/name_f]
Am I completely crazy here?
[name_f][/name_f]
Hot Take: those boys are actually named like [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]August[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_m]Miles[/name_m], the kind of very popular vintage options.

That’s entirely possible. It would fit the vibe, for sure. However, I wouldn’t classify [name_m]Oaks[/name_m] and [name_m]Alder[/name_m] as so bizarre that it’s likely[name_f][/name_f] those aren’t their real names. I’ve seen [name_m]Alder[/name_m] and several Oak-names in real life.

If we want to run with that theory, people can feel free to guess both the baby’s “Crunchy” name and their real name!
[name_m]Baby[/name_m] is a girl!

[name_f]My[/name_f] guess is something floral.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], [name_f][/name_f] I think would be lovely.

I’d say something tree themed to match the boys. [name_f]Willow[/name_f], Rowan…Ivy?

I spent a good two years watching their content unaware [name_m]Oaks[/name_m] and [name_m]Alder[/name_m] were her actual kids’ names
