Reece for a boy? Opinions please!

I am also one of the people more partial to [name]Rhys[/name] - which I’ve always seen in the UK countries. I think it’s the original spelling, but I could be wrong. I think because of [name]Reese[/name] Witherspoon that [name]Reese[/name]/[name]Reece[/name] are often seen as possibly feminine. Of course, it’s not her actual first name (it’s her middle), but oh the celebrity influence. I think [name]Rhys[/name] is very ruggedly handsome.

Prefer the [name]Rhys[/name] spelling, but a great name for a boy!

Congrats! I love [name]Reece[/name] for a boy. Is your baby here yet?

Go for it! Despite the [name]Reese[/name] Witherspoon association, I’ve always thought of [name]Reece[/name]/[name]Reese[/name]/[name]Rhys[/name] as more of a masculine name. I would go with the [name]Rhys[/name] spelling if you’re concerned about a feminine feel. [name]Rhys[/name] is all boy, [name]IMO[/name].

To be honest I don’t think it is at all unisex, for me it’s another boy’s name being used on girls and mainly because of [name]Reese[/name] Witherspoon. I admit that [name]Reese[/name] is a bit of a GP for me on girl because I once used to adore [name]Reese[/name] Witherspoon but that doesn’t mean the name should continue to be used on girls, it’s not like it was actually her first name anyway.

Why is it all the Irish and Welsh names are used on girls in the US?

[name]Reece[/name] is definitely masculine here in the UK, as is [name]Rhys[/name]/[name]Reese[/name]/[name]Reiss[/name]. I actually like the [name]Reiss[/name] spelling despite it being an odd alternative. I know of 3 little boy’s named [name]Reiss[/name].
