I mentioned Reeve/Reeves on here recently in a poll against [name_u]Reece[/name_u]. In general I’ve sort of gotten a mixed bag of impressions for [name_m]Reeves[/name_m]. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband prefers [name_u]Reece[/name_u], HOWEVER. Several people pointed out that Reece+Our Last name= and actual word when you say it out loud. Like, it obviously isn’t spelled like the real word, but it sounds like you are saying a word instead of a name if you were to call him by the full name. We haven’t totally vetoed [name_u]Reece[/name_u] because of that, but it is definitely an issue. I’m just at a point where even our top contenders have a lot of things going against them and am struggling to find something that feels right, let alone something that feels right that we can agree on.
I keep revisiting [name_m]Reeves[/name_m]. [name_u]Reeve[/name_u] is also an option, but I think I prefer [name_m]Reeves[/name_m].
Several people in another group said it sound like a law firm, not a baby name. I’m back here for some additional input on the name [name_m]Reeves[/name_m] for a boy.
I like [name_m]Reeves[/name_m]! I think it feels familiar despite being uncommon because it sounds similar to [name_u]Reece[/name_u], [name_u]Reed[/name_u], etc and also is similar to other “one syllable ending in S” names like [name_u]Miles[/name_u], [name_u]Brooks[/name_u], etc. Plus it fits with the current popularity of surname-names (which may be why people are saying it sounds like a law firm, though I don’t think that myself!).
I like [name_m]Reeves[/name_m], and I think it works really well with [name_m]Warren[/name_m]! And I prefer [name_m]Reeves[/name_m] to [name_u]Reeve[/name_u].
[name_m]Reeves[/name_m] has this fashionable outdoorsy relaxed feel whilst along having a preppy [name_m]Harvard[/name_m] law image attached which is a mixture of vibes I’m digging. [name_m]Reeves[/name_m] sounds great with [name_m]Warren[/name_m]. I did think [name_m]Keanu[/name_m] [name_m]Reeves[/name_m] but I do not think this is a huge issue just wanted to highlight that you may get this association. Anyways I like it.
The only time I’ve heard this is in regards to [name_m]Keanu[/name_m] [name_m]Reeves[/name_m]. Not a bad association at all but you may find some people ask if the name Is because you’re a fan.
I think [name_m]Reeves[/name_m] gives me a like Sophisticated, upper class kind of vibe. Like I’d expect him to own an estate. I just think all the letter e just looks weird to me but it totally works as a first name I prefer it to [name_u]Reece[/name_u] but I much prefer [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] spelling.
[name_m]Reeves[/name_m] has a really cool sound - I like it a lot - sleek and charming! [name_m]Warren[/name_m] and [name_m]Reeves[/name_m] sound good together! [name_f]My[/name_f] only doubt is the meaning - but it depends how much that means you to
I like it a lot, and also like Reeve. It goes nicely alongside Warren. I do see that it has the meaning of Bailiff, but also Steward so I would put Steward in my thoughts as that seems it would be fine.
I like [name_m]Reeves[/name_m], it made me think of [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Reeves[/name_m] at 1st so to me it has a superman feel. But maybe I’m showing my age! I prefer [name_u]Reed[/name_u] personally but [name_m]Reeves[/name_m] is unexpected and edgier and much more sophisticated than [name_u]Reece[/name_u]. It sounds stonger with more substance.
I think [name_m]Reeves[/name_m] is a great alternative to [name_u]Reece[/name_u] or [name_u]Reid[/name_u] . It feels very unexpected but still recognizable. I like that it was that occupational feel
I think [name_m]Warren[/name_m] and [name_m]Reeves[/name_m] pair well as brothers !
I like [name_m]Reeves[/name_m], it feels like a solid alternative for your circumstance. However, if you both really end up liking [name_u]Reece[/name_u], then perhaps do a hyphenated first name (ex. Mary-Kate Olsen)
