Regan?

Lately, I’ve taken a shine to the name [name]Regan[/name] (ree-gan). I’m concerned though that most people will automatically pronounce it ray-gun or use the [name]Reagan[/name] spelling instead. [name]Do[/name] you think [name]Regan[/name] with the ree-gan pronuncation is doable or would I just be setting my child up for a lifetime of, “No, it’s [name]Regan[/name], not [name]Reagan[/name].”? Also, just general thoughts on the name itself would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I’m not a fan. It has a nice enough sound, but my first assosiation with it is the treacherous daughter in [name]Shakespeare[/name]'s [name]King[/name] Lear. As popular as [name]Reagan[/name] is, I think proper pronunciation would be an issue.
