Usually I trend toward rare names, but lately I’ve become very fond of more traditional choices, especially when the middle name is something unique and unexpected. So, to get to the point, what I’m asking is this:
I’m very set on [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] for a daughter. It’s sort of classic, but still a bit rare. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think the following names would go well with her for a sister? If so, which do you think work the best?
My favourites with [name_f]Leonie[/name_f]:
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
[name_u]Marion[/name_u]
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
Names I would not use with [name_f]Leonie[/name_f]:
[name_f]Valerie[/name_f] - love, but would not repeat the same sounding end ‘ie’
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Serena[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassia[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
Maybe not with [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] ~
[name_f]Maia[/name_f]
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f] - This could work stylewise, but there are a lot of repeating sounds with [name_f]Leonie[/name_f].
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Serena[/name_f]
[name_f]Valerie[/name_f]
I personally prefer [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] & [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sofia[/name_f], as opposed to [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] & [name_f]Sophie[/name_f].
I think all of them can theoretically work with [name_f]Leonie[/name_f], but my favorites of the list that I think sound particularly good with it are:
@susannalily - That is a good point about Valerie/Sophie but I feel like it may not be a dealbreaker because a lot of girl names end with A for instance, and several are used together in sibsets.
@dream.create - Thanks for the feedback. Personally I only like Sophie and not Sophia/Sofia, so it wouldn’t quite do it for me.
