[name]Just[/name] wondering if you think the name [name]Remy[/name] is best suited for a girl or a boy?
I suppose it could go either way, but I personally think it’s best suited for a boy. I do know a girl that recently named her daughter [name]Remington[/name] (nn [name]Remi[/name]), which just screams ‘boy’ to me. [name]Remy[/name] may sound a little feminine, but if [name]Toby[/name] and [name]Riley[/name] are used for boys (and really are boy names, no matter how many girls get names like these), then I think there’s no reason there can’t be a little boy [name]Remy[/name] running around! I like it on a boy:)
To me [name]Remy[/name] is all boy. If I heard it I would think boy and if I saw it spelt like this I would think boy. I think if I saw saw [name]Remi[/name] though I wouldn’t be sure if it was a boy or a girl.
Personally I prefer it for a boy.
Makes me think of the movie Gone baby Gone. Good movie. It’s a guy’s name.
Personally boy, but I do know a high school classmate of mine has a daughter named [name]Remi[/name] (just [name]Remi[/name]), so I guess it could go either way. I plan on getting a french bulldog and if it’s a boy this is the name I have picked out for him - [name]Rembrandt[/name] nn ‘[name]Remy[/name]’
All boy. It’s so dashing; I think of [name]Remy[/name] LaBeau
This is all boy to me. I recognize that it has characteristics that make moms of girls want to use it, but it’s a boy’s name and only a boy’s name to me. For some reason it has a film noir, detective, masculine sort of vibe to me. I love it. DH would never let me use it though – ironically most likely because he thinks it sounds feminine and he wants his sons to only have super macho names. Sigh, men.
Thanks everyone We’re due with #3 in 8 weeks and struggling to find a name for either boy or girl that we both love so we have gone back to the drawing board. We have a [name]Moses[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] already and thought of the name [name]Remy[/name] last night for a boy, I do know someone who thought it was better on a girl so thought I would see what the consensus was as I think it is better on a boy too.
I only know males named Rémi/ Rémy the name is too masculine for me to imagine on a girl.
I automatically think boy…maybe a middle name for a girl if you really wanted to use it…
It’s a boy’s name.
[name]Remy[/name] is on my boy’s list.
First instinct: Boy
But I think it could work on a girl as well
I think it’s a boys name!
I love [name]Remy[/name] on a boy and, to me, it’s purely masculine. I have heard it on a girl though.
[name]Saint[/name] Rémy, [name]Remy[/name] LeBeau, and [name]Remy[/name] (the little mouse from Ratatouille) given it a masculine feel to me.
Maybe as a nickname for something like: [name]Rosemarie[/name], [name]Rosemary[/name], Remei (a Catalan name meaning “remedy”), [name]Miriam[/name], or something like [name]Rebecca[/name] [name]Miranda[/name]
I’m madly in love with the name [name]Remi[/name] for a girl. I love it! (My favorite combo is [name]Remi[/name] [name]Cate[/name].)
[name]Remy[/name] is a boy’s name. The only [name]Remy[/name] I know is a girl, but [name]Remy[/name] was her grandmother’s maiden name.
The only time I’ve encountered [name]Remy[/name] (it was spelled [name]Remi[/name]) was on a female character in a [name]Sarah[/name] Dessen novel.
My boyfriend mentioned it the other day, and I think it is so handsome for a boy/man.
I think all boy.
I couldn’t picture [name]Remy[/name] it on a girl at all. I could see [name]Romy[/name] on a girl as a nn for [name]Romona[/name] or [name]Andromeda[/name].
