Renaming Florence

This story has lasted the trial-thinking period [where I see if the idea is good enough to keep making me joyful over a number of months] and I am having naming problems.

I originally called one of my main characters [name_f]Florence[/name_f]:

A serious looking girl on the outside but she has a creative, unfocused but intense stare. She is often quite isolated as she doesn’t understand the normal social cues and behaviours although she tries to hide this. Her interests are to do with colours, paints and paint samples and she collects these in her sketchbook where she writes down what she has seen in that colour on top of the paint sample. She likes to categorise her colours and produce colour schemes as a hobby/obsession. She looks like and although the second picture is too young to be her.

My problem is that [name_f]Florence[/name_f] sounds like a ‘posh’ name and quite frankly she just isn’t in that ‘class’ of family. I need a name that has the darkness, mystery and creative flair of [name_f]Florence[/name_f] but doesn’t sound like she should be in private school [sorry for the stereotypes!] I tried variations such as [name_f]Flora[/name_f] but they were either too ‘out there’ or too cutesy/floaty. What names would you suggest?

P.S: If this is too brief a description or you need more information then please just ask.

[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f] ([name_f]Thea[/name_f]/[name_u]Teddy[/name_u])
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]

Noëlle
Chloë
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexia[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlet[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] from your list. Things like [name_f]Theadora[/name_f]/[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]/[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]/[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] are still too posh but thanks for your input.

[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] “[name_f]Mary[/name_f]” “[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]”

[name_f]Erika[/name_f]
[name_f]Joan[/name_f]
[name_f]Irene[/name_f]
[name_f]Emme[/name_f]

[name_f]Margo[/name_f], [name_f]Emme[/name_f], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] are all good ideas. I think [name_f]Emme[/name_f] fits the best so far even though [name_f]Florence[/name_f] is still the best match.

I like:

[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f]/[name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_u]Drew[/name_u]

What about these? [name_f]Renee[/name_f], [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], [name_f]Liesel[/name_f], [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_u]Grey[/name_u] or [name_f]Aria[/name_f].
