Repeating sounds, yes or no?

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like combos that share sounds, but aren’t rhymes, or do you avoid it?

For example:
[name_f]Zoey[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_u]Ezra[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u]
[name_u]Henry[/name_u] [name_u]Owen[/name_u]

I don’t really have an opinion one way or the other, honestly! I think they sound nice but I don’t actively seek them out when making combos.

I don’t like when the sounds are too close together, though. Like [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] the ‘R’ sounds are a little too close and it makes it hard for me to pronounce. But otherwise I really like all of the examples you listed!

Honestly, in the combos you put, the repeated sounds are barely audible to me and feel almost unavoidable if your list isn’t miles long.
Personally, I actually like some repeated sounds that are even more noticeable, not for every letter/sound but I find that, in many cases, they create a link between the names and make them sound more like a combo rather than two random names.

I would say I generally like them; I find that it gives combinations a nice cohesion and makes it fun to say. However, it can feel cheesy or tricky to say. It’s case by case! Of the above, only [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] trips me up (I slur it a bit).

Depends on the combo- I think syllable length and how close the repeated sounds are make all the difference.

I find [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] would be hard to say particularly if a person had a speech issue. And of the girls names I find the V a bit close in [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. Otherwise I think they’re good!

Yes, I like repeating sounds in names! Sometimes they gel a first and middle combo for me.

Yes I sometimes think I’m on my own with this but I actually like the repeating long i sound in a combo like [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] or [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u], for example!

I think [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] could potentially be a tongue twister, but the other combos sound great in my opinion!

Given those examples, I think I’m fine with it. It depends on the sound and the names. It probably helps because I use two middles, it dilutes similar sounds a bit.

It really depends on the sound and where in the names the sound occurs. For me, [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] doesn’t flow well because it’s a bit of a tongue twister putting the two strong V sounds right next to each other. Same with [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] - it just sort of flows into each other so it sort of becomes Ezraeese when I say it quickly. Gotta keep in mind that throughout life people won’t always constantly be enunciating perfectly. But in other combos, the repeating sounds give it cohesion and make it flow smoothly. [name_f]Zoey[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a perfect example of that.

I actually do like it, as long as the combo flows well. Like [name_f]Zoey[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], and [name_u]Henry[/name_u] [name_u]Owen[/name_u] are all great, but I don’t care for the flow of [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] or [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u]. The similar sounds are a little too close together in those, I think.

But in general, yes, I like repeating sounds.

Yes, unless they’re too hard to say. I find myself leaning towards combos that include some of the same letters in the first and the middle.
