I really like [name_f]Doris[/name_f] actually!

[name_f]Dora[/name_f] makes me think of dora the explorer
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] makes me think of [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]
[name_f]Dottie[/name_f] is a nickname for [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], but its cute.

What about dorothea and calling her dottie

I like [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] nn [name_f]Dottie[/name_f]

I loveeee [name_f]Dottie[/name_f], so my favorite is [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] nn [name_f]Dottie[/name_f]! [name_f]Dora[/name_f] isn’t bad, though.

I like [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] the best dottie would probably be well liked off of NB so would [name_f]Dora[/name_f] but the explorer ruined that one for me

would just [name_f]Dottie[/name_f] work?

[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] would be my favourite out of the four, but [name_f]Dora[/name_f] is a close second (despite the association).
I much prefer [name_f]Dottie[/name_f] as a nn but can’t see why it couldn’t work alone

I really like the nn [name_u]Dory[/name_u] a lot (despite the Finding [name_m]Nemo[/name_m] assoication.) I like it as a nn for [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f], [name_u]Dorian[/name_u], or [name_f]Isadora[/name_f].)

[name_f]Dottie[/name_f] is a really fun name, but it’s definitely a nn imo. [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f], nn [name_f]Dottie[/name_f] would be my vote from your list.

I also like [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Theo[/name_u] or maybe [name_u]Teddy[/name_u]) if you like the -dor sound somewhere else in the name.

[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] is a good suggestion. I voted for [name_f]Dottie[/name_f] and I think it can stand alone but it will definitely limit sibling options.

[name_u]Boo[/name_u]! [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t replace [name_f]Doris[/name_f]. It’s a dignified Grecian beauty a side of vintage sassiness. If you must, [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] is lovely, and opens the door to [name_f]Dot[/name_f]! [name_f]Dot[/name_f] is fabulous - much better than [name_f]Dottie[/name_f] imo, which immediately makes me think of doddering, dotty old ladies with feathered hats and cracked lipstick.

[name_f]Midori[/name_f] is sweet.

[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] is my favorite. Such a romantic name.

[name_m]How[/name_m] do you feel about [name_f]Doretta[/name_f]? I actually know a girl with that name.

[name_f]Dora[/name_f] by a mile, it fits perfectly with your list.

I voted for [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f], but I also like [name_f]Dora[/name_f] and don’t see any problems with [name_f]Doris[/name_f]. [name_f]Dottie[/name_f] is definitely a nickname to me and as such I prefer [name_f]Dot[/name_f].

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Adora[/name_f]?

I voted [name_f]Dora[/name_f] and also suggest [name_f]Deloris[/name_f]/[name_f]Delores[/name_f]

[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f], it’s gorgeous.

Thanks so much everyone! Although [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] won the poll, the more I thought about it, the more flaws I saw, so I think I will be going with [name_f]Dora[/name_f] and [name_f]Dottie[/name_f] for the list!

@emmabobemma - there’s a very good chance of [name_f]Doris[/name_f] coming back for me still

As for the suggestions;

Adora - this is really sweet, but just not me
Doretta - I actually really like this, but I don’t know how wearable it is here
Isadora - Lovely, I will most likely add this
Delores/Dolores - I’ve never really liked this one, but I love Lola
Theodora - I prefer Theodore

I love [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Dodie[/name_f]
