Resources for impressions of a name?

In choosing a name, the most important thing to me is the impression of a name. When someone reads a classroom list, what is their impression of each child? When a hiring manager is glancing through resumes, what is the first impression from the name on top of the page? Are there any scientifically researched publications on impressions of names? 5-[name_f]Star[/name_f] [name_u]Baby[/name_u] Name Advisor by [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] Lansky offers a little bit of that, and it sounds like [name_m]Albert[/name_m] Mehrabian researched it (as referenced here: Which baby names ensure success? Ask Dr. Mehrabian! - The Perfect Baby Blog). Or, does anyone know where I can find his complete list? I’m interested, specifically, in the most “successful” names. My daughter is “[name_f]Kate[/name_f],” which already takes up three of the names on the first ten listed on Mehrabian’s list.

I was wondering the same thing myself. So far, the only solution I’ve come up with is asking forums and hinting at the names to friends (since we’re not revealing any names until the birth), but that’s obviously pretty far from scientific research.

I really commented to let you know I’m in the same boat and to subscribe to this thread so I can get updates about any other answers you receive. Sorry I can’t be of more help!
