I’ve had my [name_f]Reverie[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_f]Tempest[/name_f] put together for a long time, and more recently, I gave her [name_f]Caprice[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Solstice[/name_f] as a sister. Now, I’m considering Sileo as a brother, but I have a few things to figure out.
Sileo means ‘to be silent’ or ‘to be quiet’ I know the meaning of a name isn’t the final deciding factor, but this meaning especially feels very condemning on a child. So your thoughts on the usability of Sileo?
Secondly, I had Sileo with [name_f]Cirice[/name_f] previously, and in a recent poll, I asked which sibset people liked more, and so far, most votes are for [name_f]Reverie[/name_f], [name_f]Caprice[/name_f], and Sileo. Though I have a sneaking suspicion it’s because people don’t like [name_f]Cirice[/name_f] that much. I’d love to hear any input on these two sets. Which you prefer, why, and any other thoughts. As well as your thoughts on [name_f]Reverie[/name_f], [name_f]Caprice[/name_f], and Sileo on it’s own.
Lastly, I have [name_f]Reverie[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_f]Tempest[/name_f] and [name_f]Caprice[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Solstice[/name_f], and I think they’re perfect. If I were to add Sileo as a brother to them, what would his middle name be?

I actually really like Sileo with [name_f]Reverie[/name_f] and [name_f]Caprice[/name_f]! [name_m]The[/name_m] three feel very cohesive to me, all unusual, word-like names with a slightly ethereal/literary quality. Of the two sibsets, I probably prefer [name_f]Reverie[/name_f], [name_f]Caprice[/name_f] & Sileo. [name_f]Cirice[/name_f] is interesting, but I think Sileo fits the overall style of the other two more naturally. Each name also feels quite distinct, whereas Sileo and [name_f]Cirice[/name_f] have very similar beginning sounds.
As for the meaning, I can understand why “to be silent” gives you pause. I don’t think I’d find it inherently condemning, though, especially because Sileo feels quite removed from the [name_f]English[/name_f] word “silent” in everyday use. To me, it has more of a serene, still, contemplative feeling than a “you should be quiet” feeling. I do think the meaning is worth considering if you personally can’t get past it, but I wouldn’t automatically rule the name out because of it.
On its own, I think Sileo is quite wearable. It sounds elegant and distinctive without feeling invented, and I like the soft ending alongside your girls’ names. It also reminds me a little of [name_m]Silas[/name_m] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] combined, which I think adds to its appeal.

It’s good to hear that! I definitely can get past it, in fact, I kind of like that it feels slightly darker. I was just worried it might come off as too dark to others.
[name_f]Cirice[/name_f] and Sileo do have similar beginnings, and that’s probably why I like them so much, but I get what you mean about [name_f]Reverie[/name_f], [name_f]Caprice[/name_f], and Sileo. They’re really starting to grow on me.

I actually think you could have some positive associations with the meaning ‘to be silent’ or ‘to be quiet’. A couple scripture verses popped into my mind.

I would say that Sileo seems to be the most unexpected choice out of the 3, but I still believe he’s usable. [name_f]Love[/name_f] the girl combos! If it we my choice, I would add Sileo [name_m]Wilde[/name_m] [name_m]Hawthorn[/name_m] “to be silent amidst the untamed hawthorns”
