[name_f]Reverie[/name_f] has been a guilty pleasure name for forever and now Revelry came to me! It isn’t in the name database but I don’t see why it couldn’t be used as a name. Meaning is “celebration“ and it’s a common enough word to be recognizable. What are your thoughts about Revelry??
It’s a bit of a hard name to say for me personally. I don’t think it’s bad (certainly not a tragedeigh) but [name_f]Reverie[/name_f] looks prettier, flows better, and feels more acceptable.
I love the flow of [name_f]Reverie[/name_f] and the thoughtful, yet bright feel it has!
Revelry is intriguing - I like it in theory, but I also feel like it has associations beyond just celebrating - usually linked to noisy, raucous, sometime chaotic event, with lots of alcohol? That just might be my association though
I prefer [name_f]Reverie[/name_f] over Revelry, if feels more like a real name and Revelry is a bit hard to say!
I think [name_f]Reverie[/name_f] is a little easier of a flow/pronunciation, but they’re both beautiful!
I’ve always liked [name_f]Reverie[/name_f], and I’m really liking Revelry! I can’t believe I’ve never come across it as a name! Such a fun sound and meaning.
[name_f]Reverie[/name_f] all the way! I can understand how you feel about revelry it’s quite similar in sound but it almost always has the word drunken before it and so that doesn’t make it seem as nice a baby name as the contemplative and serene [name_f]Reverie[/name_f].
You may like [name_m]Riviera[/name_m] though… it sounds similar to both [name_f]Reverie[/name_f] and Revelry… just a thought.
I’ve never heard of Revelry before!
I love [name_f]Reverie[/name_f] so much!
But I will say, I see [name_f]Reverie[/name_f] as a girls’ name while Revelry feels more like a boys’ name to me
Honestly I can see Revelry as a name though! [name_m]Revel[/name_m] is a name that’s starting to be used more! It means rejoice so it has the similar meaning to Revelry, and it would work as a nickname too if you wanted!
[name_f]Reverie[/name_f] is my favorite! [name_f]Reverie[/name_f] is peaceful. It’s associated with thoughts, imagination and dreams. It has a sweet, romantic sound. I like it!
On the other hand, Revelry is associated with celebrations, but it is primarily a word used to characterize noisy parties, which can be linked to other activities and interactions that are not so suitable for a child’s name. So, I’m not sure if it would be usable for a real human being.
I like Revelry, its bolder [name_f]Reverie[/name_f] is a bit watery for my tastes.
