Review/Rank/Tell Me About My List!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] friends!

I haven’t posted about my personal list in quite awhile, and was just looking for some thoughts  Any way that you choose to review names, whether that’s love-like-lose style or rankings or emojis, I’m open to it all. [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] - 7
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] - 9
[name_u]Ivy[/name_u] - 7

I love your taste, a lot of these names are in my own list too. I think you have a very elegant and classy taste in names, such a beautiful-beautiful list! :ballet_shoes::ribbon::swan:

Top 5

[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] (in my own top. I love the meaning, the silvery melodic sound. I love it’s a classic, a regal elegant name (Queen [name_f]Silvia[/name_f] of Sweden). I love the magical, whimsy vibes that come from the meaning of the name and from the famous fairy/ nymph ballets [name_u]Les[/name_u] Sylphides/ The Sylph/ [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]. A very ethereal and sophisticated name. I also like [name_f]Sylviana[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvana[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvaine[/name_f], [name_f]Sylva[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_u]Silver[/name_u] (a solid classical boy name in my country, but it’s actually unisex?), [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] (prefer it for a boy), Sterling)

[name_f]Alice[/name_f] (an adorable and pretty classic. In my mind it sounds a bit cottagecorey and vintage. I love it in combos like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_u]Anne[/name_u], [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] etc. I think it sounds so lovely and sweet also because of the [name_f]Alice[/name_f] in Wonderland association. I also love the sound.)

[name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] (So pretty and princessy. In my country Anna-Liisa is pretty common, so it makes me doubt to use it myself. But gosh, I love this one. I also adore names like Annevieve (and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]), [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f], Annerose and Annabel/ Annabelle)

[name_u]Esme[/name_u] (I looove the sound. Sounds what honey and milk taste like. Soft and warm and gorgeous)

[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] (I love that cottagecore flowery classic. I think it’s my current favourite [name_u]Rose[/name_u] name)

[name_u]Love[/name_u]:

[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] (I also love [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], [name_f]Meliora[/name_f], Eliora)
[name_f]Azalea[/name_f] (I loveee it, but I have doubts because of the Az (ass) - beginning? But maybe it’s not a problem at all and I just pronounce things wrong )
[name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] (So gorgeous and princessy)
[name_f]Edith[/name_f] (clunky cute, an adorable vintage granny name)
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] (All I could see was phobia, but my little sister told me it sounds like a fairy, so I fell in love :ballet_shoes:)
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] ( Cute [name_u]Southern[/name_u] vibes. I also love [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f], because of [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u] and The [name_f]Duchess[/name_f] :womans_hat:)
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] (in my country it’s a bit dated, but it’s still stunning)
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] (I think this name is so chic!)
[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] (I also love [name_f]Willamina[/name_f] and Winifred)
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] (one word: Adorable! )

Like:

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] (I love that purple flowery association, I love the elegant vintage feel. However, sometimes it looks like the word ‘violent’)
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] (very chic as well)
[name_f]Annika[/name_f] (I just don’t love the [name_f]English[/name_f] prononciation. It sounds like a name from Japan like that. But it’s a super cute name)
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] (lovely sleek name)
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] (Shrek honestly ruined that name. And what a shame, because it’s such a nice name!!)
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] (it’s a bit too singsongy the way I say it. But very mermaidy and mystical )
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] (it’s an adorable vintage name. I always think of vintage Scandinavian [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] by a frozen lake and a forest)

It’s sweet, but not my style:

[name_f]Nadia[/name_f]
[name_f]Nola[/name_f]
[name_f]Renata[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] (for some reason I think of soap operas)
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f]
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] (Sweet, but I’m just not a [name_f]Dora[/name_f] girl. I prefer Isolde✨ and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]. [name_f]Izaro[/name_f] is cool too. [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] and [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] are very sweet tho)
[name_u]Ivy[/name_u] (I prefer it as a nn)
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] (super cute , but perhaps too cute? But maybe not )
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] (maybe you’d also like [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Margit[/name_f], [name_u]Maret[/name_u])

Thank you for your long reply @Parfait_de_Roses!

[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] has been a combination on my mind for a long time, which would combine two of my loves.

Which way do you pronounce [name_f]Annika[/name_f]? I should have clarified in my original post, but I only like the AH-nick-a pronunciation, not ANN-nick-a. I think the [name_m]Ah[/name_m] beginning is much prettier.

Also [name_f]Margot[/name_f] used to be one of my favorite names, but my married last name starts with the same [name_u]Mar[/name_u] sound :frowning: Maybe I’ll have a niece with that name someday!

 [name_f]Annika[/name_f], [name_u]Esme[/name_u], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]

:white_check_mark: [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_f]Edith[/name_f], [name_f]Isadora[/name_f], [name_u]Ivy[/name_u], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Renata[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]

:-1: [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f], [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f], [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], [name_f]Azalea[/name_f], [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Maren[/name_f], [name_f]Nadia[/name_f], [name_f]Nola[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_u]Vivian[/name_u], [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], [name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f]

I think you have some really great names on your list! I’ll try to offer my honest opinion without being (too) judgmental…

[name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to counter with my opinions.

[name_f]Alice[/name_f] - I think that it has a very timeless and vintage feel. I don’t think I’d use it ever (I prefer the variants [name_f]Alissa[/name_f] and Alyssa), but it is rather pretty.
[name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] - I love this name very much, but unfortunately it was spoiled for me by my friend’s mom with this name.
[name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] - I have an aunt with this name and I also know a little girl with this name. I wouldn’t use it, but it has a lovely sound and flow to it.
[name_f]Annika[/name_f] - Same with [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]: I love the name, but had a not-so-pleasant experience with a person with this name.
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] - I absolutely love this name. I met a girl once with this name, and while she wasn’t amazing, I definitely adored her name.
[name_f]Azalea[/name_f] - I think it has a very fresh and modern feel. It sounds beautiful, but I don’t like it.
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] - I feel like this is a very unisex name, as I’ve heard of both girls and boys with this name. While I probably wouldn’t use it, I don’t dislike it either.
[name_f]Edith[/name_f] - I’m sorry for being rude, but this sounds like the name of an old lady at my church (even though I don’t know any).
[name_u]Esme[/name_u] - I LOVE this name SO much! It’s timeless, classic, elegant, and refined. This one is for sure on my name list!!
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] - I think it sounds a very 90s-2000s name (like around when I was born). It sounds very spunky and energetic. I actually know a girl my age with this name. While I like it, I wouldn’t use it for a girl today.
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] - I’m going to be honest, I don’t really like this name, which is weird because I love place names (Sydney, [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u], [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], [name_u]London[/name_u], and [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] are all on my list). It just sounds too old lady-ish in my opinion, but it does work.
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] - I like this name a lot, although not enough to make it onto my very selective list. When I picture this name, I picture an adorable little Spanish princess.
[name_u]Ivy[/name_u] - I think this name is short and sweet. It’s too short for my personal liking, but it’s adorable.
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] - I’ll be honest, it sounds very 80s. I know several people born around that time with this name. However, if you’re going for an 80s vibe, it sounds cool.
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] - I think this is one of those names that I love some days and don’t others. Overall though, it’s timeless and classic, but sounds unexpected and fresh at the same time.
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] - I love the name [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]. It sounds classic and elegant and sweet, yet it does give me some tomboy vibes.
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] - I think of [name_f]Maren[/name_f] [name_m]Morris[/name_m] when I hear this. I don’t have a problem with her, but the association is too strong. I do think it’s a pretty name though
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f] - I think this gives me old, strict, European stereotype vibes (I’m really trying not to be racist). I also prefer it spelled [name_f]Nadya[/name_f] or [name_f]Nadiya[/name_f].
[name_f]Nola[/name_f] - I feel like [name_f]Nola[/name_f] is sweet and shy, but also a knows-what-she-wants type of girl. [name_f]Nola[/name_f] is very adorable, and I think it ages well. I also like the name [name_f]Nyla[/name_f].
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] - I believe [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is a sweet name, and people find it beautiful, but it’s just not for me. It was probably spoiled (randomly) by that girl in [name_u]Magic[/name_u] School Bus or whatever.
[name_f]Renata[/name_f] - I’m sorry, but it reminds me of granita ice cream for some reason. In fact, when I was younger, I used to think it was an ice cream flavor lol. The name is elegant yet uncommon, but it’s just not my style.
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] - I think [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is a beautiful and timeless name. It’s a combination of two classic names, and also the name of a delicious herb. I think it has many wonderful associations.
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] - I’ve always loved the name [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], probably since I was around 9-10. It just sounds sweet without sounding either too princessy or too unisex and tomboyish. There’s just something about this name to me. I would absolutely use it if I was old enough to have a daughter.
Sylvia/Sylvie - I like both these names a lot, however I don’t think I’d ever use them. I’m not sure why. These are names that I’m like 50/50 on.
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] - I may be a little biased because it’s my dog’s name, but I think the name [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is lovely. It’s sweet and it grows well.
Vivian/Vivienne - I also LOVE this name, and all its spelling variants. It sounds elegant, regal, and almost queen-like. I would absolutely 100% choose this name.
[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] - I think this name is very nice. It sounds very [name_m]German[/name_m], which isn’t bad, but other people may have their opinions. I think [name_u]Mina[/name_u] is a nice nickname for this.
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] - While I do really like [name_f]Willa[/name_f] a lot, I can’t see it aging well. It’s beautiful, but only on a little girl. I feel like [name_u]Willow[/name_u] ages better.
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] - I’ve never heard this name before, but it looks and sounds lovely.

Thanks @CattheBat13579! I appreciate the honest opinions! I obviously have some different opinions from you (I’m starting to like the old-ladiness of [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. And nobody seems to like [name_f]Renata[/name_f] except me ) but I think that’s part of the fun of names.

There a few categories that come to mind to describe your style: modern classic, feminine and a little princessy, a sprinkling of vintage revival.

Lose: [name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_u]Vivian[/name_u], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Nola[/name_f], [name_f]Nadia[/name_f], [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f], [name_u]Ivy[/name_u], [name_f]Annika[/name_f], [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f], [name_f]Anastacia[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]

Honestly, I like almost all of them, but some but some doubled up. For example, I would lose [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] because i like [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] better, and [name_f]Willa[/name_f] because it can be a nickname for [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]. Same with [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f].
