Any ideas for longer names that [name_u]Rex[/name_u] could be a nickname for? I like the idea of calling my kid [name_u]Rex[/name_u], but on it’s own it just feels too short to me (and I can’t get past the dog-name association).
Thanks lovelies

How about [name_m]Oedipus[/name_m]?
I’m thinking [name_u]Rex[/name_u] could work for something like [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] or [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], perhaps? Or it could connect to the meaning of the name. “[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]” is a nn for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] because that’s one of the name’s meanings. So any name that has ruler/king in its meaning could technically work – [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Frederic[/name_m], [name_m]Richard[/name_m], [name_m]Alaric[/name_m], [name_m]Roderick[/name_m], [name_m]Eric[/name_m], etc.
Hope this helps!
Hmm
Rexton
Rexley
Rexson
[name_m]Rexford[/name_m] (my fav)
You could also do a double name
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_u]Scott[/name_u]
[name_u]Tyler[/name_u] [name_u]Rex[/name_u]
Something like that? I really like [name_m]Rexford[/name_m](Rexfurd, Rexforde) it will work well for him as an adult
I know someone in their 40s with the name [name_u]Rex[/name_u] so it seems like it could work on its own for a kid or adult to me.
Maybe [name_m]Reginald[/name_m]?
But honestly, I think [name_u]Rex[/name_u] is cooler.
Frederick or [name_m]Rupert[/name_m]
Rex is one of my absolute favourites and I personally think it works on its own but if you’re not sure about it, I actually think the suggestion of [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] works quite well. I usually like nicknames to be obvious but for some reason, even though it isn’t intuitive, I do think [name_u]Rex[/name_u] works as a nickname for [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. I mean if [name_u]Kit[/name_u] works for [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] then why not?
Rex is latin for [name_m]King[/name_m] / Ruler.
So… Howabout…
Reggie
[name_m]Reginald[/name_m]
[name_m]Gino[/name_m]
[name_m]King[/name_m]
Kingsly
Rexwell
I love [name_u]Rex[/name_u] a stand alone name.
I’ve never been a big fan of the full names that could give [name_u]Rex[/name_u] as a nickname. The show Desperate Housewives had a character named [name_u]Rex[/name_u] who was a doctor. I was really keen on the sound Dr [name_u]Rex[/name_u] had.
I know it might sound silly, but to me [name_u]Rex[/name_u] could be an affectionate name for any full name, regardless of his name, if that’s what you want him called. To me it has a playful vibe, and could stick to any name that you’d like.
How about Tyrannosaurus? I just don’t think [name_u]Rex[/name_u] is the name for you if you’ve got these vibes about it. [name_u]Rex[/name_u] is in the same school as [name_u]Max[/name_u] is best as a name on it own. And I know there are bigger names for [name_u]Max[/name_u] but…ehhh they always seem ostentatious for no reason.
