Rhett?

I just stumbled across the name Rhett on a list on the NB site and it shows for both a boy and a girl. That was a new one and I haven’t been able to shake that since. I’m sort of loving the idea of Rhett for a girl. Thoughts?

I think it is usable for a girl, but I don’t like it.

I quite like it - I’ve had Rhett/Rett down as an fun, neutral nickname for [name_f]Loretta[/name_f], so I can see it working

It’s my son’s name, but I totally think it could work for a girl, especially with a more feminine middle, like [name_u]Rhett[/name_u] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. I have [name_u]Walker[/name_u] on my list for both, so I mean, why not [name_u]Rhett[/name_u]? :woman_shrugging:t3:

@emeraldsea I love it for an [name_u]Everett[/name_u] nn, that hadn’t even crossed my mind! It also made me think of [name_u]Merritt[/name_u] with a [name_u]Rhett[/name_u] nn!

@leafsgirl44 [name_u]Walker[/name_u] is a fav of mine too, for either!

My whole list is pretty unisex tbh

Technically would work, but I think ‘Rhett Butler’.

This is one of those names Insee working better on Nameberry then maybe irl. I similar looking [name_f]Rita[/name_f]. [name_u]Or[/name_u] the suggestion of [name_u]Rhett[/name_u] ad a nickname for a longer name like [name_f]Loretta[/name_f].

i wouldn’t use it it’s too synonymous with [name_u]Rhett[/name_u] [name_u]Mclaughlin[/name_u] from good mythical morning and [name_u]Rhett[/name_u] & [name_m]Link[/name_m]

I find [name_u]Rhett[/name_u] to be more masculine myself. But I mean, you should do what makes you more comfortable.
[name_u]Rhett[/name_u] as a nickname for a girl would not be bad at all. I suggest [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f].
