Rhodes, Levon, Sylvan or Darcy

Hi everyone!

We are expecting our third little one in August and we do not yet know the sex of the baby. My husband and I have settled on Senna Bradley Dorte (Dor-eugh)for a little girl but we are stumped for a boy’s name.

These are four names we like, but aren’t necessarily in love with. Just haven’t found anything that wows us. I was all for Rhodes, but it has just cracked the top 1000 and seems like it will only get more popular.

Our daughters’ names are Arwen Irene Marie and Merrick Elizabeth Reid. Last name is 2 syllables and starts with T.

What are your favourites? Any other suggestions?

I have to say, I do love [name_u]Rhodes[/name_u] with your girls’ names! It has that cool, tailored, slightly preppy feel and is still pretty rare.

[name_u]Darcy[/name_u] is my second favourite. I really like it for a boy, but I have to admit that if I saw a sibset of [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] and [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] I’d probably assume [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] was the boy. But it’s a lovely name and very unusual for either sex in the States (here in the UK [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] is not unusual for girls).

[name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] is also gorgeous, probably my favourite name in isolation and I like the “forest spirit” vibe I get from it paired with [name_f]Arwen[/name_f].

i think sylvan and rhodes are my favorites with your sibset, and i don’t think that rhodes is getting too popular (considering it ranks only in the 900s), but if you want some suggestions:

I love [name_m]Stellan[/name_m]! I wonder if it would be shortened to [name_f]Stella[/name_f] as a nn though.

Completely agree with this! It’s my favourite of your suggestions by far. It’s foresty and ethereal along with Arwen but tailored and not-too-gendered along with Merrick, a perfect happy medium.

I like [name_u]Rhodes[/name_u] best. The top 1000 is a really hard thing to avoid, and you still don’t often meet people with names at the bottom of it. I would definitely not worry about it.

Honestly [name_u]Rhodes[/name_u] is stunning! He feels romantic, has a summery European vibe conjuring up imagery of bright blue ocean, white sand and hot lazy summer days. He has that holiday vibe! I love the meaning ‘where roses grow’ it’s just beyond dreamy and I think works wonderfully with [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] + [name_m]Merrick[/name_m].

with your set my favourite is [name_u]Rhodes[/name_u]! [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] and [name_u]Rhodes[/name_u] would be a lovely sibling set. [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] is my second favourite, i think it goes really well with [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], and together in the set it matches [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] too.
