Rhyming names?

[name_f]My[/name_f] partner and I are looking for the perfect names for the daughter we are expecting soon.

She will have two middle names and my partner is dead set on one of them being my mothers first name. I have nothing against it as a concept since my mother is a wonderful and supporting person. The only thing is my mothers name rhymes with our top choice for first name.

This doesnt bother my partner but I think it bothers me.

Would it bother you enough to give up one of the names?

I think if you have a name between them and love the first name enough, it would be fine. Is there a variant of your mothers name you could use?

Depends on the names in question and on the full name itself

Depending on the names, I think it would be cute. But like @Greyblue mentioned, having a name between them or using a variant of your mother’s name is a great idea.

For me it does depend on the names in question, as some combinations can work better than others due to length differences etc., but personally I would put the intended meaning before perfect flow. I also second the idea of adding another middle or using a more indirect honour name.

I feel like it would probably be cheesy sounding, but it does depend on the names. I agree with others that maybe you should look at names similar to your mom’s instead of using it exactly.

The name would be Juli3ette 1st middle name An3tte. Last name starts with a B

First middle name would most likely be name with a totally different orgin because of heritage

Im a bit concerned it would be cheesy yes and picking a name with the same meaning as An3tte is not really an option. A close variant might be but cant seem to find one.

[name_u]Anne[/name_u]? As an alternative

Knowing the names I personally definitely wouldn’t do it, but of course realistically middle names aren’t used super often so it might not be a big issue in her life if you do decide to. Luckily An3tte has a ton of options for similar names. Some options might be:
Juli3tte [name_f]Ann[/name_f] / [name_u]Anne[/name_u]
Juli3tte [name_f]Annie[/name_f]
Juli3tte [name_f]Etta[/name_f]
Juli3tte [name_f]Ana[/name_f] / [name_f]Anna[/name_f]
Juli3tte [name_f]Annalise[/name_f]
Juli3tte [name_f]Anya[/name_f]
Juli3tte [name_f]Atta[/name_f]
Juli3tte [name_f]Attie[/name_f]
Juli3tte [name_f]Anetta[/name_f]
Juli3tte [name_f]Anabel[/name_f]

You could probably find a ton more too. Nameberry has an advanced search feature where you could find lists of all the names with certain letter combos, like “an” or “ette” etc.

Agreed about Juli3ette _ Anne3! Also I feel like Juli3ette is already somewhat of an honor for An3ette as they have the same endings.

In a way yes I agree. [name_f]My[/name_f] partner just really really wants to clearly honour my mother which is very sweet.

I would honestly still do it, the 1st middle would definitely help and I love how much your partner wants to honor your mother, I think it’s sweet. It wouldn’t flow the best but I think that comes secondary when it’s a family name. You could do Juli3ette An3tta or Juli3etta An3tte, the A kinda helps it sound not as rhymey. Here’s a list of other names related/variants of An3tte that might help!

I am tempted just because it would mean a lot to both of them but well i just dont know.

We might have to find another first name instead
