I’m really loving [name_m]Robin[/name_m] for a boy! I have always loved [name_m]Robin[/name_m] but have never seriously considered him as he’s not biblical etc. But now that’s not a consideration I was wondering what your thoughts are on this one?
I love [name_m]Robin[/name_m] because it’s a nature name, feels whimsical, I like the idea of [name_m]Robbie[/name_m] as a nickname I think that’s really cute, that it’s an honour for [name_m]Robert[/name_m] a family name and the nature connection.
Cons I really want [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] as a middle name is [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] to much considering [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Robin[/name_m]? Full combination would be [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] or [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m]?
[name_f]Do[/name_f] [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] + [name_m]Robin[/name_m] work together?
I love [name_m]Robin[/name_m]! But I’m a bit biased as have a daughter [name_f]Robyn[/name_f] we also often use the nickname [name_m]Robbie[/name_m]. [name_m]Or[/name_m] Robster Lobster.
I think [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] is fine, they’re both very well established names anyway and the flow and feel is totally different to [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Robin[/name_m].
And I think [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] and [name_m]Robin[/name_m] sound great together.
i love him as a brother for lilia. they both have that subtle nature theme going, and have such a gentle, spirited vibe.
robin john christopher is the sweetest, and i think having john in the middle takes care of alluding “christopher robin”! though, it would make a great nursery theme
I adore [name_m]Robin[/name_m] on a boy! It feels so sweet It has a really gentle, nature-y vibe that is just the loveliest. I do think [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] is too much, since [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Robin[/name_m] is the main association (for most people) with the name [name_m]Robin[/name_m] on a boy, buuut it could work if you break it up with [name_m]Robin[/name_m] (other name) [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]! And I think it’s absolutely adorable with [name_f]Lilia[/name_f]
Yay, love that you get to reconsider one you enjoy!
[name_m]Robin[/name_m] is gorgeous! Warm but rugged, sweet and cosy, christmas vibes, and a nature-y feel.
It’s the name of one of my favourite characters too, which is a plus
[name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] is close to [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Robin[/name_m] but it’s not a bad association, flows well and I think if you do [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m], it would break it up a bit?
[name_f]Lilia[/name_f] and [name_m]Robin[/name_m] are lovely - unexpected but cohesive
Maybe I’m just old… but surely [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]Williams[/name_m] would be the first/main association?!
And then there’s [name_m]Robin[/name_m] Hood, Batman and Robin…
Robin’s not a super common name like [name_m]Matt[/name_m] or [name_m]Ben[/name_m] or [name_m]John[/name_m] used to be, but I don’t think it’s so uncommon as to be mainly associated with [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Robin[/name_m] either. I used to be friends with a [name_m]Robin[/name_m] at university, and there’s an older man called [name_m]Robin[/name_m] who brings his grandchild to one of the playgroups I go to as well.
I love [name_m]Robin[/name_m]! And [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] + [name_m]Robin[/name_m] work beautifully together! [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] does remind me a bit of [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Robin[/name_m], but I think adding [name_m]John[/name_m] in there helps, and it’s not something I would think if I was someone hearing the name for the first time. Also, when he’s born, and gets older, most people will probably forget the whole [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] the Poo show existed. You know, because we’re all going to be old and boring I think if you love the name, go for it. It really is a stunning name!
i feel like the allusion to christopher robin is quite obvious, but i don’t know if that matters at all since it’s the middle name. lilia and robin are cute together though. perhaps robin john christopher could work for you? it breaks the two names.
@Kiriko your daughter has such a lovely name! I love the nickname R0bbie for your R0byn is so cute. Yay I’m glad you think [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] works and that you think [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] + [name_m]Robin[/name_m] work!
@emeraldsea yay thank you so much for the positive feedback and I get that [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] is so sweet. I also really like the idea of [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] + [name_m]Robin[/name_m]!
@tallemaja thank you so much for the positivity and you [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] works. I also think [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] + [name_m]Robin[/name_m] are adorable I have to agree.
@Greyblue thank you for such lovely feedback and it’s so fun rediscovering new favourites! [name_m]Robin[/name_m] is really appealing to me
@Kiriko i think the [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Robin[/name_m] is really strong because the middle name would be [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] so obviously that’s definitely very obvious association! But of course [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]Williams[/name_m], [name_m]Robin[/name_m] Hood etc are very strong. [name_f]My[/name_f] concern was the [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] middle name 🩵
@Baby_Lover_101 yay thank you for the positivity! Hahaha very true we are going to be old + boring thank you!
@AStudyIn_Scarlet thank you for responding and I agree [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] is a winning combination!
I am obviously very biased since I have a [name_m]Robin[/name_m], but he is 2 now and I still love his name so much, I’m so happy we picked [name_m]Robin[/name_m].
I think the nature connection makes [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] and [name_m]Robin[/name_m] work great together!
Weirdly, [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] doesn’t immediately bring to mind [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Robin[/name_m] for me - I think because “Christopher Robin” is so set in stone, in that order, that just flipping the names around breaks the association for me. [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] makes the connection even less obvious (and it’s not a bad association, in any case!).
I think [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] and [name_m]Robin[/name_m] are really sweet together and work for siblings!
I honestly don’t think using [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] as a middle name is a deal breaker either. I remember listening to the [name_f]Baby[/name_f] Name [name_f]Envy[/name_f] podcast and the one episode they talk about how one couple messaged in saying they wanted to name their son [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Robin[/name_m] because of [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] the Pooh but did receive negativity from family and friends so they were looking at other options. I don’t remember if they actually went through with it or not but [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] isn’t the same as [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Robin[/name_m], so I don’t think the [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] the Pooh reference is obvious
If you also add [name_m]John[/name_m] in there it also takes it more away from the cartoon!
Unless you’re planning on calling him [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] or [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Robin[/name_m] and never just [name_m]Robin[/name_m] on its own then I don’t see any problem! Use what you love!
Also I think I prefer [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] for the flow. It’s hard to tell without knowing the last name but I think the 2-3-1 syllables sound nicer than 2-1-3
@Luminen oh my gosh I can’t believe your [name_m]Robin[/name_m] is 2 I’m certain I remember your birth announcement so clearly as I had name envy
I’m massively into [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] currently!!
@chelsia thank you I love the baby name envy podcast but I don’t remember this episode! I think [name_m]Robin[/name_m] + [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] are really sweet so thank you for the positivity
I love [name_m]Robin[/name_m] with [name_f]Lillia[/name_f], what a gorgeous little pair. I like that they both have a sweet nature connection. I think [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] is a really handsome choice and tbf [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Robin[/name_m] is a sweet connection so don’t let that put you off x
@Luminen ahhh it’s so lush that you remember [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] birth announcement it does make you feel special in name nerd
They grow so so quickly! Time [name_m]Just[/name_m] flies with kids. [name_f]My[/name_f] friend said that being a parent the days a long but the years are short which I agree.
@MargotAbeline ahhh that’s so special honestly I love seeing [name_m]Robins[/name_m] around. I also love seeing the positivity surrounding [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] + [name_m]Robin[/name_m] as a pairing
I had a little boy in elementary school named [name_m]Robin[/name_m] and I always loved [name_m]Robin[/name_m] for a boy ever since. I’m a huge [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]Williams[/name_m] fan too so you really can’t go wrong. I like [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] and then you really don’t notice the [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Robin[/name_m] connection (though I think it’s a very sweet literary connection).
Yes! I like [name_m]Robin[/name_m] for a boy and for all the reasons you listed. I also like [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] + [name_m]Robin[/name_m] together! [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] would get my vote
