I am also looking for a name that is somewhat international and can be pronounced by our Portuguese families. It’s actually Romao in Portuguese.
[name_m]Roman[/name_m] is in my top 5 names for boys as well! So, I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] IT!
I adore the name [name_m]Roman[/name_m]! It is so strong and handsome. I like the nn [name_f]Ro[/name_f] and [name_u]Romy[/name_u]. I think that this name would work very well internationally. I say go for it!

I really like [name_m]Roman[/name_m]. I think the only downside to this name is that it is the name for a people. But it was a name that I was seriously considering and haven’t completely written off, it just didn’t end up a top name.

I like [name_m]Roman[/name_m] a lot. Not a fan of any of the nicknames, but I don’t think it needs one. If I were a person who really felt like I needed to use a nickname I probably wouldn’t choose this. But since I’m not I think [name_m]Roman[/name_m] is great.

I knew a [name_m]Roman[/name_m] who did not help my view of the name; but as you don’t have that association, I have to say it is a great name on its own merits. I also love the nickname [name_u]Romy[/name_u]!
It used to be one of my favorites and I couldn’t decide between [name_m]Roman[/name_m] and [name_m]Ronan[/name_m]. Either would be a could option.
I love [name_m]Roman[/name_m]! To me it seems like a strong name. I tried to convince my husband to use it for our little boy due in [name_u]August[/name_u], but he refuses 
[name_m]Roman[/name_m] is definitely one of my favorite names. [name_f]My[/name_f] dad has a cousin named [name_m]Roman[/name_m] who I never met, but even as a child when he was mentioned I would think what a cool name it was. I think it would be odd on a blonde though, and I also think it works best with certain ethnic names ([name_m]Roman[/name_m] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] just doesn’t work for me).
