[name]Hi[/name]! We are due [name]March[/name] 21 and won’t know the sex until we meet our baby. We are down to 4 names if it’s a boy and we’d love your input. [name]Max[/name] and [name]August[/name] are shortened versions of [name]Maximo[/name] and [name]Augustine[/name] which are both family names. Although my hubby loves [name]Maximo[/name], I just can’t see myself using this name. Possible combo on the table are:
I like [name]August[/name], [name]Augustine[/name], [name]Max[/name] and [name]Ronan[/name] (I prefer this Irish spelling to the Japanese ninja spelling of [name]Ronin[/name]). Not crazy abou the name [name]Parker[/name]. Have you considered [name]Maxwell[/name], [name]Maxim[/name], [name]Maximilian[/name] or [name]Maxfield[/name] or [name]Augustus[/name] as options.
I also prefer [name]Ronan[/name]. [name]Ronan[/name] [name]Augustine[/name] is very handsome. I’d only slightly prefer [name]Ronan[/name] [name]August[/name]
fyi [name]Ronin[/name] is pronounced ro-NEEN, whereas [name]Ronan[/name] is ROW-nan. I also prefer the Irish name [name]Ronan[/name] to the violent ninja name [name]Ronin[/name].
[name]Ronan[/name] [name]Augustine[/name] is wonderful. I actually think [name]Maximo[/name] is lots of fun-- would you be OK with [name]Ronan[/name] [name]Maximo[/name]? If not, [name]Ronan[/name] [name]Maximus[/name] sounds equally good.
Also like [name]August[/name] [name]Maxwell[/name] / [name]August[/name] [name]Maxfield[/name], as mischa suggested.
[name]Parker[/name] = a valet. [name]One[/name] who parks cars for other people.
[name]Ronan[/name] [name]Augustine[/name] is a great name and definitely gets my vote! My second choice would be [name]Max[/name] or [name]Maxwell[/name] [name]Augustine[/name]. I do like [name]Max[/name] on it’s own.
I also prefer [name]Ronan[/name] [name]Augustine[/name], because of the pronunciation. If you are using [name]Ronin[/name] with the ROW-nin pronunciation, you may want to switch to [name]Ronan[/name] to avoid confusion, and the -an ending is visually stronger and more masculine than the -in. If you are using [name]Ronin[/name] pronounced ro-NEEN, then [name]Ronin[/name] [name]Augustine[/name] is too rhyme-y for my personal taste. That being said, [name]Ronan[/name] [name]Augustine[/name] is my favorite of your three choices.
I have not heard the name [name]Maximo[/name] before, but if you’re looking for a way to honor him and get the nickname [name]Max[/name], [name]Maximus[/name] would be an excellent choice. [name]August[/name] [name]Maximus[/name] is a lovely pairing, full of strength and history.
In relation to your other three choices, [name]Parker[/name] comes up weak for me, especially since it brings to mind the valet association. I would let this one go.
