I think [name_u]Rory[/name_u] totally works!
Since [name_m]Gilmore[/name_m] Girls [name_u]Rory[/name_u] has been more unisex to me, especially as a nickname.
I see the connection and I think it can work. I do like [name_f]Gigi[/name_f], Glo and [name_f]Lori[/name_f] as NNs.
It doesn’t work for me, sorry. I also think it’s a bit of a shame, [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] is such a perfect name and doesn’t really need a nickname. If I had to use one, I’d go with [name_u]Glow[/name_u] or [name_f]Glory[/name_f].

Yeah, sure, [name_u]Rory[/name_u] works for [name_f]Gloria[/name_f]. I like the previous suggestion of [name_u]Glow[/name_u] too.
Echoing most of the other replies- I love this idea! I think it definitely works.
Personally, I’ve always felt that ‘Rory’ sounds really harsh.
Glo, [name_f]Lori[/name_f] or [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] would be nicer.
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] is fabulous! 
I think [name_u]Rory[/name_u] works but it does have a different vibe. I personally like it when the “feel” of the nickname kind of matches the energy of the full name. [name_f]Ria[/name_f] and especially [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] fit that bill best for me.
I think [name_u]Rory[/name_u] works pretty well and it’s totally usable for a girl, probably because I think of [name_m]Gilmore[/name_m] Girls xD
I think [name_u]Rory[/name_u] definitely works but I love [name_f]Gigi[/name_f]!
