We already have a name for our daughter which will be Gloria but we’re totally stuck on what her nickname should be I love the nickname Rory but my husband thinks it’s too much of a boys name… what do you guys think? We are also thinking of the nns Gigi or Ria but I’m not totally sure about them
I think [name_u]Rory[/name_u] could work, though I think that [name_f]Lori[/name_f] or [name_f]Lora[/name_f] would be more intuitive.
I think Rory works and it’s definitely not just a boys name! Gigi is also sweet
[name_u]Rory[/name_u] is very unisex to me, so I think it works! [name_u]Or[/name_u] what about just [name_f]Glory[/name_f]?
Hey, if a [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] can become a [name_u]Rory[/name_u], so can a [name_f]Gloria[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Glory[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] and do not like [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] or [name_f]Ria[/name_f].
[name_f]My[/name_f] husband loves [name_f]Glory[/name_f] but for some reason I’m not really a fan of it! Thank you for the suggestion though <3
I think [name_u]Rory[/name_u] works. I also really love Glo!
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] is gorgeous
I think [name_u]Rory[/name_u] is a fun nickname for [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] and I think as a nickname definitely works as unisex option. [name_u]Rory[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] gives me similar vibes to [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] or [name_u]Leo[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_f]Leonora[/name_f]. I love that overall style of name it’s very fashion forward. I do get why your partner sees [name_u]Rory[/name_u] as a masculine option but I think it definitely works for girls just look at [name_m]Gilmore[/name_m] girls with their [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] ‘Rory’ character. I think this is great. I also love [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] that feels very elegant. I also like [name_f]Glory[/name_f]!
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] nn [name_u]Rory[/name_u] works for me - you could use it and your husband could use something else!
Glo, [name_u]Glow[/name_u], [name_f]Glory[/name_f], Riri, [name_f]Gia[/name_f] might work
I absolutely love [name_u]Rory[/name_u] with [name_f]Gloria[/name_f]! Although I might spell it [name_u]Rori[/name_u] so it connects more with the [name_f]Gloria[/name_f]! I’ve always thought of [name_u]Rory[/name_u] as a unisex leaning feminine name due to the [name_u]Rory[/name_u] [name_m]Gilmore[/name_m] reference from [name_m]Gilmore[/name_m] Girls. I think this would be a cute and spunky nickname for [name_f]Gloria[/name_f]!
I absolutely LOVE the name [name_u]Rory[/name_u] for a girl (thanks to [name_m]Gilmore[/name_m] Girls!!) and I do think it works for [name_f]Gloria[/name_f]. It does seem like a little bit of stretch, but then again, [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] nn [name_u]Rory[/name_u] is as well. But if you want something more feminine, [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] and [name_f]Ria[/name_f] work, along with [name_u]Glow[/name_u], [name_f]Lori[/name_f], and [name_f]Lia[/name_f].
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] is wonderful and [name_u]Rory[/name_u] is a cool nickname, definitely not too masculine ([name_m]Gilmore[/name_m] Girls). I’ve also seen it used as a nickname for [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and it works well.
I also like [name_f]Gigi[/name_f]
Yes to [name_u]Rory[/name_u] for a girl and as a nn for [name_f]Gloria[/name_f]. I’m so happy to hear that you’ll be using [name_f]Gloria[/name_f], BTW! Another nn idea is [name_f]Ora[/name_f].
I think [name_u]Rory[/name_u] works as a girl nickname! But I also do like [name_f]Ria[/name_f] and [name_f]Gigi[/name_f]. I say wait and see what feels natural to you
[name_u]Rory[/name_u] definitely works! I much prefer [name_u]Rory[/name_u] on a boy, though, so I see your husband’s perspective. I do like [name_f]Rora[/name_f], though, which is generally a nn for [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], but I think it would work here too! I also like the idea of [name_f]Glory[/name_f] or especially Lola… or [name_f]Lia[/name_f]! [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] is nice too.
Good luck!
[name_f]Gia[/name_f], [name_u]Lorry[/name_u], and [name_f]Lia[/name_f] could work to me, too! [name_u]Rory[/name_u] is super cute. Doesn’t seem as intuitive, but still lovely.
[name_f]My[/name_f] son has a girl in his class named [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] and she goes by Glo or [name_f]Glory[/name_f]
I love Gloria! I know you don’t like “Glory” but would spelling change your mind? Glori or Glorrie? I think Glori is so fresh!
It would be no different than [name_u]Rory[/name_u] for [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] I’ve never heard [name_u]Rory[/name_u] on a boy. I actually thought it was just a girl’s name before I got on Nameberry! [name_u]Rory[/name_u] is so cute, and I think it’s perfect for [name_f]Gloria[/name_f].
[name_u]Rory[/name_u] definitely works for [name_f]Gloria[/name_f]. I don’t think it’s too much of a boys name at all, I’ve met many girls names [name_u]Rory[/name_u]
