Rosabelle

Pretty or trying too hard to be traditional but different? What middle name paring would you have?
Would personally shorten to Belle not Rosa as MIL name is Rose (love her to bits) so not worried about it being similar.

[name_u]Or[/name_u] thinking more so [name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].

I don’t think it’s too try hard at all. Very pretty, too [name_m]Uber[/name_m] feminine for my personal taste but lovely and a lesser used -Belle name. [name_f]My[/name_f] first thought for a middle was [name_f]Clara[/name_f].

I think it’s very pretty, though I’d personally prefer the spelling Rosabel (nickname Belle would work for either spelling). Rosalie is a favorite too!

Any way you go with it, I think you have a lovely choice on your hands.

As for middles, my first thought was to go with something relatively simple but classic, like…

Rosabel Claire
Rosabel Jane
Rosabel June
Rosabel Tess
Rosabel May
Rosabel Amy
Rosabel Nina
Rosabel Grace
Rosabel Mary
Rosabel Cora
Rosabel Nora

(Any of these would also work perfectly well with the spelling Rosabelle, too!)

I love [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and all her variants!

[name_f]Rosabelle[/name_f] is very sugary sweet that feels flamboyant and has a fun vintage flair. I wouldn’t say she’s too try hard at all feels more like an fun alternative to [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]. I do prefer the more streamlined spelling of [name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] and I think even with this spelling [name_f]Belle[/name_f] can work as a nickname.

You’ve had a few suggestions so count any repeats as me being in agreement with the berries

[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Nina[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_u]Florence[/name_u]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Mia[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Saffron[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_u]Joan[/name_u]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_u]Marlow[/name_u]

I also really want to put forward the idea of [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f]! I think [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] is a beautiful rose variant feels strong, feminine and unusual I also like that you can use [name_f]Annie[/name_f] as a nickname so would stop any confusion regarding having two Rose’s.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps

Thank you for your reply! I love the nickname [name_f]Belle[/name_f] so wanted a longer name which could be shortened to that! [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] is beautiful though!

I love [name_f]Belle[/name_f] too! I think Rosabelle/Rosabel is perfect if your angling for [name_f]Belle[/name_f] nickname. I also like [name_f]Bellerose[/name_f].

Rosabelle feels a little too frilly for me, but Rosabel can work! I also love the previous poster’s suggestion of Bellerose! You might also like Arabella, Annabel, Amabel, Belphoebe, Campbell, Mirabella, Mirabel or Mabel for the nickname Belle!

As for Rosabel, since it’s quite an intense flowery choice I’d stick to a shorter, simpler middle name. Something along the lines of Rosabel Cleo, Rosabel Eve, Rosabel Hope, Rosabel Maeve, Rosabel Oona, Rosabel Sylvie, Rosabel Tessa, Rosabel Thea, etc.

I prefer [name_f]Bellerose[/name_f] to [name_f]Rosabelle[/name_f]. [name_f]Rosabelle[/name_f] feels a little nursery rhyme esque to me so its not my favourite. However I do like the actual fairytale/nursery rhyme name Rosanella so :woman_shrugging:t2:

I think I agree with the others in prefering [name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] as a spelling. It’s pretty.

I’d choose maybe a slightly stronger or less frilly middle?

[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_u]Anne[/name_u]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Una[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]

I adore [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] !!

[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_u]Blaire[/name_u]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_u]Jade[/name_u]

I love the name [name_f]Rosabella[/name_f]

I don’t usually love frilly or really feminine names but I think [name_f]Rosabelle[/name_f] is a breath of fresh air, you know? It’s not used as often and it sounds beautiful, though I would prefer the spelling [name_f]Rosabel[/name_f]. Maybe nickname [name_f]Bella[/name_f]?

[name_f]Rosabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f]

[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Layla[/name_f]

[name_f]Pretty[/name_f]! [name_f]Rosabelle[/name_f] sounds like a great choice. It’s distinctive and rare, but sounds familiar, like classics Rose/Rosa and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f].

I like it! I think I might like Rosebelle/Rosebel slightly better.

I’d use something simple for a middle, maybe [name_f]Eve[/name_f] or [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. I also like the suggestion of [name_f]Clara[/name_f]!

I think [name_f]Rosabelle[/name_f] is very pretty, but I would personally go for [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]— [name_f]Rosebelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosabella[/name_f] if you are looking to keep the “belle” part. The only reason I’m not a huge fan of [name_f]Rosabelle[/name_f] is because it feels like there should be a little bridge between the names, as my personal opinion of [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] is a sassy, spunky Latina, whereas [name_f]Belle[/name_f] feels very [name_u]French[/name_u]. I would go with [name_f]Rosebelle[/name_f] to keep the [name_u]French[/name_u] chic, or [name_f]Rosabella[/name_f] to keep that sassy spark!

[name_f]Rosabelle[/name_f] is trying to hard, imo, and a little sacharine.
Rosaura, [name_f]Rosalba[/name_f] (or [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] Alba), are alternative options, but [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] (even if the origin different, as in the “ros” is from the Germanic “hros”, horse and 'lind" malleable, but retrospecitively/reverse engineered it is seen as rosa + linda - beautiful rose) or [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] (rose origin, rosa - mundi, rose of the world*) or [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] are more traditional, but not common.
rosa mundi is the wild rose of Scotland/UK/ N Europe with the magenta/fuchsia coloured petals, where rosa alba is the while rose of Scotland/UK/NEurope with the white petals; these distinctions are something [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] MacDermind plays around with in his short poem “The [name_m]Little[/name_m] White Rose” which is amplified because the white rose, the rosa alba, was the symbol of the Jacobites (Stuart kings/pretenders to the throne) and of 17thC/18thC Scottish -versus British - identity; the white rose is again a symbol for an independent [name_u]Scotland[/name_u].

I love [name_f]Rosabelle[/name_f]! It is one of my favorite [name_f]Rose[/name_f] names. I don’t think it is too much at all - but I do tend to like longer, frilly names
