Rosalind, Rosalyn, Rosalynn, Rosaline, Rosamund

I know, I know. How many threads are there already devoted to the [name_f]Rose[/name_f] names? I’m making yet another.

I originally liked [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], nickname [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. I’m not so keen on that anymore. I think [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is toward the bottom of the [name_f]Ros[/name_f]- names for me at the moment, but I keep coming back to [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]. We don’t even know the gender yet, but for some reason the baby I’m carrying feels like [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]. I know that makes no sense, but the name keeps sticking with me. [name_f]My[/name_f] mom prefers [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosalynn[/name_f], which were other suggestions I asked her about. I think [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] is beautiful, but can’t decide if I like it as much as [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] or not. Sometimes I think the -d ending of [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] sounds too harsh, but for some reason I’m terribly fond of other names that end with -lynn. [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] are also options.

Where I’m from they would be pronounced “[name_f]Roz[/name_f]-uh-lind” not “[name_f]Rose[/name_f]-uh-lind”, etc. With the exception of [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f], which I feel like people with pronounce “[name_f]Rose[/name_f]-uh-line”.

I love both [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] as nicknames, but am leaving them out of the poll because I think we’d prefer a more substantial full name with the option of nicknames.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on what your favorite is and what vibe you get from the name. What type of little girl/ grown woman do imagine having that name? Thanks in advance to anyone who answers!

Have you considered [name_f]Rosalinda[/name_f]? It’s one of my favourites, and it avoids the harsh D sound. Otherwise, [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] is perfect and it sounds like you love it, so I’d go with that

Have you thought of Rozlyn nn Roz

Rosalie is sweet and sunny to me, all rosy cheeks. [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] is elegant and intellectual and still has the sweet nickname option of [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. I love both but do prefer [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]. I love your combos too! [name_f]My[/name_f] favorites are [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f].

Rosalind is gorgeous to me! And the [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] connection for me is a big one. I’m not a huge fan of [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] (maybe because of how I pronounce it - roz-uh-lee - just sounds harsh).

We are close to someone named [name_f]Linda[/name_f] and would rather avoid a name with the -linda ending because of that, but thank you for the suggestion!

Same. I think I was originally drawn to [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] because of the nickname options, but [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] still has the option of [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] and I like the full name much more!

I think I fully agree with you here! Thanks for the feedback!

I do like the nickname [name_f]Roz[/name_f]. I’m afraid people will think it’s a typo and there’s supposed to be an a in there somewhere though. Thanks for the feedback!

I have to choose [name_f]Rosalynn[/name_f] simply because of [name_f]Rosalynn[/name_f] [name_u]Carter[/name_u] (even though it’s her mn). I’ve read a lot about [name_m]Jimmy[/name_m] [name_u]Carter[/name_u] and just find them such a good couple. Did you know they still read the Bible to each other in Spanish every night?

Ooooo, I love a good historical reference. I also like her first name [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. [name_f]Rosalynn[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] almost sounds like a good combo to me.
