[name]Do[/name] you think that [name]Rose[/name] is only common as a middle name, thus its appearance on the top 1000, or is it also a common FN?
It is set to be the 80th most popular girls name in the UK, jumping 10 spots in the UK for 2011. However, I actually only know of 1 little girl named [name]Rose[/name] and she’s nearly 2 years old. The other [name]Rose[/name] I know is in her late 20’s, maybe earlu 30’a - not completely sure.
Agree with your wondering- I wondered that too.
Never met a child named [name]Rose[/name] yet. Only 2 adults in my life.
I suspect it appears as a mn as far as popularity lists go.
I’ve never actually met a [name]Rose[/name] myself, but I know several people who have it as a middle name. Kind of like I know 2 [name]Maries[/name], but know like 30 people with [name]Marie[/name] as a middle name.
Ladies, remember, don’t feed the trolls.
And as for [name]Rose[/name], I have never met one in my life! Actually not even sure if I know someone with a [name]Rose[/name] middle name too.
Does the popularity list show middle names? I thought it only showed firsts?
Disappeared the troll – thanks everyone for letting us know. Any problem on the forums, you can always email pam or linda@nameberry.com. Thanks!
I agree–the SSA list doesn’t take MNs into consideration for the top 1000 list. There really are little Roses out there, even though the name [name]Rose[/name] is a lot more common as a MN. I know two Roses, although they’re both adults now.
I am not sure of [name]Rose[/name]'s ranking on the SSA list, but I do think that it’s obscure enough to feel fresh as a FN these days.
[name]Ive[/name] only met one [name]Rose[/name] (as far as first names go) and 1 [name]Rosalie[/name] as well. They were both adults too so Im not sure these names are as common as we think at least as first names.
