Rose Elizabeth Darling! I'm excited about this one!

I love [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Dashiell[/name]! They sound great together, though I might be a bit biased, as a [name]Rose[/name] myself. I love the [name]Rose[/name] [name]Red[/name] nickname; so cute! I always loved [name]Snow[/name] White & [name]Rose[/name] [name]Red[/name], mostly because one of them shared part of my name. I actually think that I like [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Dashiell[/name] better than something more typically substantial, like [name]Rosalie[/name] or [name]Rosemary[/name].

There are tons of nicknames for [name]Rose[/name], by the way. I got [name]Rosy[/name]-[name]Posy[/name] a lot when I was younger (my mum still calls me that sometimes); [name]Rosalina[/name] is my aunt’s pet name for me. My grandma used to call me [name]Flower[/name]. The only teasing I ever received was '[name]Rose[/name]‘s nose was once a hose’ from my brother. And older brothers can find teasing potential from absolutely anything.

It is a beautiful name! Another literary connection with “[name]Rose[/name] [name]Red[/name]” (sweet nickname!) is from the “What [name]Katy[/name] Did At School” book, where she had a gorgeous friend (sparkling with fun and mischief!) nicknamed [name]Rose[/name] [name]Red[/name]! All the best.

“The man rose and dashed out of the room”! Haha, wow, I never thought about it like that! Or that they are both nouns! [name]Do[/name] you think that’s a bad thing? I bet most people wouldn’t notice… Right? [name]Even[/name] if they did, it’s more just a funny coincidence than anything to worry about, I think…

[name]Leah[/name], I know, shocking that [name]Rose[/name] is so low! Actually that’s when I realized how much I love the name. I was reading the new list (starting at 1) and nothing stood out to me (maybe with the exception of [name]Lucy[/name]). But I saw [name]Rose[/name] and practically gasped! And I thought, ya know, I just read 680 names and this is the only one I love, that has to say something! And yeah, I would bet that [name]Rosalie[/name] will surpass [name]Rose[/name] soon.

Oh! And look, [name]Rose[/name] [name]Eli[/name]zabeth. I don’t think that’s too much of a stretch to use [name]Rosalie[/name] as a nickname

As for [name]Rowe[/name] and [name]Rose[/name], nah, it doesn’t bother me. My (favorite) grandparents are [name]Robert[/name] [name]Rowe[/name] and [name]Ann[/name] [name]Rose[/name], so I just think of them. If they were two names I liked purely for sound, or any other reason, really, it would definitely bother me. But as it stands, no, I actually like it.

[name]Rose[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name], beautiful name! Thanks for your comment! It’s good to hear that you like your name! I like all your nicknames, too, so cute. [name]Rosy[/name]-[name]Posy[/name] actually worries me a bit because my parents have a dog named [name]Posey[/name]. Also, my cat growing was [name]Flower[/name]. I named her when I was four and I WANTED to name her [name]Rose[/name] but my uncle who gave her to me made a face and my mom made me change it. So she was [name]Flower[/name] [name]Rose[/name]. [name]Flower[/name] [name]Power[/name] [name]Rose[/name] [name]Taylor[/name] :). [name]Jamie[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] totally copied me :stuck_out_tongue:

2005, I will have to check out that book now, thanks!

[name]Rose[/name] is a fantastic name and you so rarely see it in the first name spot. I’ve always loved the nickname [name]Rosie[/name] as well.

Is this what you want me to comment on, [name]Lyndsay[/name]?

I like [name]Rose[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Darling B. I don’t love it. I love the addition of sweet Darling to give the name some much-needed oomph, and I love that it honors your two favorite grandmas, but I find it slightly more bland than some of your past ideas.

So, you’re totally okay not having a future [name]Betsey[/name], then? And I also think if you use [name]Rose[/name], you probably don’t want to use [name]Viola[/name]. Right? I wouldn’t. [name]Margo[/name] is still on the list - yea! I love [name]Dashiell[/name] and [name]Margo[/name]. They feel so vintage-spunky to me. [name]Rose[/name] doesn’t feel as spunky at all, but I suppose that’s okay.

PS What were [name]Margo[/name] “Magpie” 's middle names? [name]Katherine[/name] [name]Ann[/name]? [name]Katherine[/name] [name]Faye[/name]? [name]Cecily[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]? [name]Julia[/name] Jenness?

love it! I love the initials too

[name]Lyndsay[/name],

I just watched the strangest movie with a character named [name]Rose[/name] in it. She was beautiful, with red, long hair in curls and big, bright eyes. She was a nice [name]Rose[/name]. It was set in [name]England[/name] in the 1930s, though. [name]Rose[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] is bland, but [name]Rose[/name] alone is not today. You’re right. And Darling dresses it up, gives the name spunk - good! I don’t like all the Z action going on in [name]Rose[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]. Its there in [name]Rose[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], too, but not as much. I even think [name]Rose[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] Darling or [name]Rosa[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] Darling would be nice…

(Oh, I love [name]Sosie[/name] for [name]Susannah[/name]. Its rather inspired for [name]Rose[/name], too!)

I’m not as much loving [name]Margo[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] today! The back-to-back G and K feel off to me, but maybe it’s just me? I still like a softer combo: [name]Margo[/name] [name]Cecily[/name], [name]Margo[/name] [name]Julia[/name]. Hey, maybe [name]Margo[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Bliss[/name] works? Hm.

lyndsay, I totally know what you mean about wanting [name]Betsey[/name] to be your own name. I have the same thing with the name [name]Celia[/name]. I have come to realize I could never name my daughter this. instead now i am planning to use [name]Cecily[/name] or [name]Cecilia[/name], probably as a middle name. So I think you’re definitely on the right track using an [name]Elizabeth[/name] variant as an mn. [name]Margo[/name] [name]Betsey[/name] [name]Bliss[/name] is really cute (: I still love [name]Rose[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Darling, and I don’t think it’s bland at all, but it’s definitely less unusual than some of your other combos like lemon said.

also, lemon, which movie did you see? I saw “I Capture the Castle” the other day and the [name]Rose[/name] in that movie fits your description perfectly, haha.

Yeah, [name]Lemon[/name], what movie was that? I’d like to watch it! [name]England[/name] in the 30s sounds right up my alley! And actually that makes me think that [name]Rose[/name] really is my style. I love 20s/30s style names. I would love to use [name]Katherine[/name] as a middle, but then all three names would be from my side, and I can’t do that. Plus I love [name]Elizabeth[/name] more anyway, and the fact that this was the first combo I came up with for [name]Rose[/name], and the initials happened to spell [name]Red[/name] is really great for me. Have I told you the “Fatal [name]Apple[/name]” story? It’s rather long, but red is special to me for that. I think this name ticks all the right boxes, and I didn’t even have to think about it. [name]Just[/name] like when I found [name]Dash[/name]'s name. Very much like your [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Wren[/name], I think! Plus, Darling is so silly, I think it needs something on the serious side for balance. [name]Rose[/name] [name]Kitty[/name] Darling would be so flighty. [name]Rose[/name] [name]Elaine[/name] Darling?

I love [name]Susannah[/name] so much. I [name]LOVE[/name] that [name]Sosie[/name] reminds me of that, as well as [name]Sophie[/name]. So perfect! I saw it in someone else’s thread, I feel like a thief! But it’s just so cool!

I don’t think [name]Margo[/name]'s middle name has been found yet.

[name]Isa[/name], [name]Margo[/name] [name]Betsey[/name] [name]Bliss[/name] is adorable! [name]Ah[/name]! I think it’s probably too cute to actually use, but I love it! [name]Kinda[/name] makes me want to use [name]Margo[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] and call her [name]Margo[/name] [name]Betsey[/name]! I really love [name]Elizabeth[/name] for [name]Rose[/name], though.

[name]Glad[/name] I’m not alone with the weird name thing! [name]Cecily[/name] or [name]Cecilia[/name] will be great for you to use in the middle! It almost honors you, ya know? That’s sort of how I feel about [name]Elizabeth[/name], anyway. [name]Glad[/name] you don’t think the combo is bland! I know it’s not unusual, but I guess I’m opposite of the rest of the world, I like more unusual names for boys than I do for girls. Weird!

[name]Ah[/name]! I’m having such a hard time responding to you! Okay, I’ll be brief. I’m not thrilled with the G-K sounds, so if it were me, I’d use [name]Rose[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] Darling or some variant and [name]Margo[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Something - [name]Margo[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Cloud[/name], [name]Margo[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Crete[/name] ([name]Lucretia[/name]), [name]Margo[/name] [name]Lou[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] ([name]Lucretia[/name])? - or [name]Margo[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Bliss[/name]. [name]Just[/name] sounds better to me is all…

L

PS I love [name]Sosie[/name]! Great for [name]Susannah[/name] but cute for [name]Rose[/name], too!

[name]Rose[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Darling is beautiful. not bland at all, just very classic. personally, i’m not a fan of using more than one middle name, but in this case i think it works  i also adore [name]Margo[/name]/[name]Margot[/name] and think that [name]Margo[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] is lovely (i would spell it [name]Margot[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] though but it doesn’t make much difference)

I am still totally enamored with this name! I think it sounds like a princess’s name, which to me is great. What little girl doesn’t want a princess name? I certainly would’ve! It has a very warm, lovable feeling and rolls off the tongue easily. I find [name]Rose[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] more difficult to say, and though it’s pretty it doesn’t flow as well. I say go with the name you’ve got, that you love. It’s wonderful.
