I would love to know your ideas and feedback on the two names (both for first name). Which one you think is a better choice? I like both and go back and forth between the two, despite they are from two different words!
If I have to choose, [name_f]Alara[/name_f]. I rate them both very highly as first names, though! [name_u]Rose[/name_u] is succinct but packed full of imagery, strong sounds and that lovely long vowel. However [name_f]Alara[/name_f] just isn’t used enough, in my opinion, so I’d go for her! I love the meaning, her luxurious 3 syllables. She sounds magical yet familiar due to the her similarity to [name_f]Lara[/name_f], [name_f]Alannah[/name_f] and being an -a ending name.
Also wanted to ask about the meaning of [name_f]Alara[/name_f] that you referred to… Are you referring to “water fairy” or color red that appears in the sky just before the sunrise?
I’ve found the meaning about red color in Turkish and loved it so much!!
I’d choose [name_f]Alara[/name_f]. I love ‘ara’ sounding names and [name_f]Alara[/name_f] is a beautiful sound with a beautiful meaning. [name_u]Rose[/name_u], of course, is also beautiful, and not so common as a first name. So, it is a close call. But [name_f]Alara[/name_f] with it’s gorgeous sound, meaning and unusual, but not unrecognisable edge wins out for me.
However I love [name_u]Rose[/name_u]! I have loved [name_u]Rose[/name_u] for such a long time she’s one of my absolute favourite girls name and if I’m ever blessed with another baby girl this will be her name. [name_u]Rose[/name_u] is romantic, timeless, elegant, has gorgeous floral connotations and feels very cottagecore an aesthetic that I adore. [name_u]Rose[/name_u] just makes me smile. I love her
Both are lovely. [name_u]Rose[/name_u] won’t need any correcting or explaining ever (I can see [name_f]Alara[/name_f] getting misheard for similar names like Elara) and is a lovely, simple, timeless, classic but [name_f]Alara[/name_f] is more unusual and unexpected and definitely stands out more.
