Not even close to TTC, but do you think sisters named [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] and [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] are too similar? They would go by [name_u]Romy[/name_u] and either [name_u]Marley[/name_u] or [name_f]Marnie[/name_f].
Personally, I would actually use the nicknames instead of the real names. [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is ok, but [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] is way too outdated for me.
I am starting to fall for [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] since watching the original Yours, Mine & Ours so many times. I also adore [name_u]Romy[/name_u], because it reminds of [name_u]Romy[/name_u] Schneider. [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] is pretty. I don’t they’re too close, [name_u]Marley[/name_u] is very Dickens to me, as opposed to being feminine.
I probably would not use them because they are both forms of [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. What about one name from [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and the other from [name_f]Mary[/name_f]? Some possibilities:
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Marina[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] and [name_f]Mariana[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosamond[/name_f] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_f]Roisin[/name_f] and [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]
Rohais and [name_f]Mariel[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is probably a definite at this point (that would be the name if I were to have a girl at this moment), but [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] is a new name crush - it was my grandma’s name, so I think that is the pull for me as it was recently the 1 year anniversary of her death.
So does [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] being a definite rule out any other [name_f]Mary[/name_f] related names? I’d love to honor my grandma in some way - but could use her middle name, which was [name_f]Catherine[/name_f].
All just hypothetical, of course, won’t be even TTC for another 7-8 months.
You might consider [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] as honoring your grandmother. You could use a -lyn name in the middle like [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Lynette[/name_f] to make the connection to [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] stronger.
Both are lovely but they are rather close… If you had [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] first and then [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], it would work better than the other way around;)
