In order to stick within multiple family naming traditions, I’m looking for the perfect two-syllable, R-starting nature name. I love both [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and [name_u]River[/name_u], but I’m wondering if you all think either of these names is wearable on a girl. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any other suggestions that meet this pretty strict criteria? The one I’m most willing to toss is the two-syllable, but I’d want to keep the nature name and the R-start.
I’d love to use [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_u]Scout[/name_u] as the middle name to honor friends, but [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is too cutesy, and [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_u]Scout[/name_u] sounds like a profession.
I really like both names. I’ve actually only known girls named [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and I know a girl called [name_m]Rivers[/name_m] so both names seem super wearable on a girl (and I prefer both on a girl, although I still like them for boys). I love [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] so much, she’s on my shortlist for girls!
The middle names are a tough one. I see what you mean about [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_u]Scout[/name_u]… [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] Clarkson’s daughter’s name and I associate that immediately with her (not a bad thing though). [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_u]Scout[/name_u] is sweet though! Would you be willing to add a second middle to break up the repetitiveness or wordiness?
Other ideas:
[name_f]Rhea[/name_f] (earth goddess)
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_u]Raven[/name_u]
[name_f]Raina[/name_f] (maybe a stretch but “rain”a)
[name_u]Rio[/name_u]
[name_m]Rivers[/name_m]
[name_u]Robin[/name_u]
[name_f]Roisin[/name_f] (“rose”)
Seconding [name_u]Robin[/name_u] and [name_u]Raven[/name_u] from pp
[name_f]Rainie[/name_f] is the only other one I can think of. Maybe [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] (comes from the place name and means rose)
Compromising on the 2 syllables, there’s [name_u]Rue[/name_u] and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
Both first names are amazing! I would go with [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I also love the previous suggestion of [name_f]Primrose[/name_f]!
