[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! What name do you like more - [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] or [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]? And what are your honest thoughts on these names?
How do you pronounce [name_f]Rowena[/name_f]: [name_f]Ro[/name_f]-wen-ah or [name_f]Ro[/name_f]-wee-nah?
What middles would you suggest? (So far I like [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Lilac[/name_f])
For a girl, I prefer [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] (although I do like [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] for boys and girls, I lean towards boys). This will sound silly, but after looking at both pronunciations, I’m not sure how I pronounce it! They both sound right in my head. I think I’ve pronounced it both ways before.
Rowena gets my vote! [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] is fine, but I tend to prefer it for a boy. [name_f]Rowena[/name_f], however, is so elegant and unexpected.
I prefer the roh-wen-uh pronunciation myself, but I think a lot of people might assume it’s roh-wee-nuh. Not sure which you are going for…
Rowan is my favorite name for a girl so it absolutely gets my vote! I like [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] too but only pronounced ro-wen-uh. Unfortunately, I say ro-wee-na in my head though.
I see [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] as a spunky, athletic name for a girl! And I see [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] as an elegant, sophisticated name for a girl!
Other people may have different vibes for these names, but I get the vibe for [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] because of a character by that name on Supernatural.
I prefer [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] reminds me of the Duchess [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] from ‘[name_f]Barbie[/name_f] in the 12 Dancing Princesses’, and I really disliked that character as a kid!
